I'm a huge fan of Chris Harris' work (he should do Top Gear instead of the 3 Stooges) however this is verging on an Audi advertisement...
He would make an excellent Stig.
I've always reckoned that Chris woul make an excellent presenter for a 'Final Gear' on late at night on BBC for car enthusiasts - he's not just a stig contender, his opinions are very well formed and he comes across really well on camera. So Chris Harris for sure, and from the world of journos Jethro and Henry from Evo are pretty good on camera, and from the world of racing Tim Harvey, Martin Brundle and Johnny Herbert are all very good on camera as well. There are so many interesting features they could do, and no doubt they've all got loads of great contacts to make them all happen.

Perhaps Chris will eventualy go it alone on You Tube and create his own channel?

I've always felt that people who are accomplished drivers first and journos/presenters second do far better and more insightful reviews of performance cars than people who are the other way round. The reason Chris is so good is that he combines both of these talents equally.

I find him very hit and miss, his starting perspective is inconstant, he's often deliberately confrontational, sometimes just plain wrong, its far to much "the world according to CH" for me rather than an open minded neutral approach.

Then theirs the power sliding which I was bored of watching at 15 (doing is another matter). Also the smoooooouuuth Jazzzzzz FMmmmmm voice i find irksome, needs to be a bit more upbeat at times, like when he was a passenger in the F1 doing 150 on public roads smile

But then he makes vids like the lister jag which i think was one of the greatest car vids i have ever seen - no messing about, no agenda just showing us brilliant driving in an amazing car (i will forgive the result spoiler, this time).

So for me he can be on TG as either the Stig or he has to wear a ball gag smile

The more I'm exposed to these GT3 cars, the more I think they - and not the insectile prototypes - are the future of sports car racing.
The problem with that is that GT3 has absolutely no rules and it's only balance of performance to keep them in lie. Right now as GT3 is a customer formula, it works as the manufacturers have to keep costs in check in order to sell cars Make this the pinnacle and in come full manufacturer budgets pushing the limits and spiraling costs, leading to the category's rapid demise. See also: Super Touring, original DTM, GT1.

Also, LMP is designed to push the limits of technology, can't really do that with a road based GT3.

Yes, I was. It wasn't exactly relaying the experience to me and was very light on anything beyond "these cars are really different.. cause this is a race car" - I may have missed the bit where he talked through taking each corner, what speeds either car managed at entry, apex and exit and how they compare?

I understand there may have been a difficulty in getting certain shots. Accessibility, time constraints, Audi PR people... dunno. But the same could be said for video of the lap of The Ring done in the ford EcoBoost racer, that was pretty much all mounted cameras and monologue. Yet I loved that video because of the commentary from Chris.

One of the things I feel always get from Chris' videos is a real sense of what the car is like (although I'll never drive any of them so I can't verify it!), he's got a real talent for connecting with the viewer and conveying the experience, even if it's just swearing a lot in an F40.

This video is a bit lacking and I don't know why. Maybe it's just a quickly made one for the beginning of the /drive year (in amongst the test drives and Audi infomercials). It does say that usual service will resume in the next one and I'll be watching it Wednesday night.

Really enjoying the /Tuned Panama trip too!
