It is an immense machine... But I was 6 months into owning mine before I loved it.

A test drive, watching one go down the motorway, sitting in your mate's...whatever really doesn't do it justice. Yes it weighs more than an e46 but it is nothing less than ballistic and never struggles to move or handle its weight.

It's sad a decent v8 is going not because I don't think the m4 will be better but m wouldn't be downsizing if legislation wasn't forcing them to.

A unique engine is a signature of an exciting car to me.... As Lexus seem to have realised, now that is an exciting prospect!

I'm not quite getting the noise around the E92s weight - 1580kg vs. 1537kg of the M4. Not a lot in it at all. I guess the difference of the weight of a child?
I'm not sure those are right for the M4, I've seen these for the M4 on bimmer post and they seem to be pretty clued up on the new M3/4

M4 = 1497kg so 83kg difference and that's quite a bit.

I am a die hard manual fan & I went with the manual for mine...but the engine does suit the DCT better as it helps remove the slight lack of low down shove I think & virtually all the cars I see on track on youtube are DCT.

I've had mine for 2 years now and just decided to hold onto it rather than change it, as I've done with every car for the past 15 years after 2 years. That says something to me about a car that feels so planted and has so much more power than is needed IMO.

Sod the fuel consumption issues as anything I buy is likely to be similarly awful.

That car probably is one of the same Limited Edition 1 of 500 (LE 500) as the Red/White/Blue ones.

I had one of the red LE500's and I believe that BMW only sold about 300 of the 500 so released some further limited edition colours to help sell the remaining 200.
That's interesting maybe this is ? Was there a Carbon Black LE500 :-) ?
Yep, original colours were Imola II Red, Santorini Blue and Mineral white. They then added Tanzanite Blue, Carbon Black and Stratus Grey.

Completely understand, but if all the power was available low down do you think people would be able to harness it?

Yep although I need to sell it as I've also got an HP4 and two S1000RRs which are even more mental, especially the race / track one.

Three if you class the HP4 carbon as one too. I really need to sell one but can't bring myself to do it.
