Was out this evening and got caught in a situation whereby I nearly stopped in a box junction (bromley by the entrance to the Glades/Boots coming from the fire station). Turning right onto the main road I realised that I had no option to stop on the box (only on one side of the road), incase of cameras and knowing the road was blocked on the other side (1 way in effect owing to buses passing), I stopped in the oncoming lane (not box junctioned), level with the box to my NS facing the back of the queue I was joining...

If there were cameras am I now looking at a fine or will the act of stopping level with the box but in the oncoming lane that isn't yellow be enough?

ETA yes, poor observation I know but thought they'd move up further than they did.

Yes but only if you cannot proceed due to oncoming traffic.

Noticed these days people reluctant to enter boxes when they could...rolleyes

Depends on the verocity of the council in question i assume, e.g. brother barely had an inch of his back bumper of his corsa c in a london one and got given £120 fine.

But given your situation and the fact that u was waiting to to turn i'd definatley appeal that if you do get something in the post
