Well once upon a time I would have agreed with you about Vauxhall reliability having had the misfortune to own two of them, I said I would never buy another and I have not, but recently they do seem to have got their act together, has to be down to them being just re badged Opel's I imagine.
My son has a 57 plate corsa with only 30k miles on. Its been trouble, and now needs an ECU

and my pal just had to replace his 120d engine at a grand old cost of £8000+. \it was just out of warranty.

there are very few cars nowadays in the small hatch that seem to have very few problems.

I had a 58 plate and absolutely nothing went wrong with it, at all. Until I stuffed it through a bush and into a field of course.

The Corsa VXR is the one hatch on the road that I see and like. I actually find it quite desirable. It's got just the right amount of boy racer in it.

Is it a bit chav? What's wrong with a bit chav? Are you worried about what other people might think of you? Poor, poor you. "They'd think much better of me if I drove a second hand golf gti" - reality: no one gives a st what you drive (or what you wear or what you do), they're far more concerned with their own lives.

I don't see why you wouldn't buy one at £22k...? Is it too small? It's a hot hatch, so surely small is better? People don't suggest a Lotus Elise is too small... I actually don't understand hatchback economy. It's the only sector where size dictates value, and where the absolute top end is about £30k. Any more than £30k is insane, ridiculous, complete madness (apparently). Never mind that you can buy a £15k coupe or a £500k coupe - that's completely fine - but a hatch?! An expensive hatch?! Are you mad!! (FF doesn't count :-))

Good moan/rant.
here here smash
I'll second that!

After seeing the recent Evo track battle between this and the Clio 200. All I keep hearing in my head is "it has a proper diff, it has a proper diff, it has a proper diff" over and over again.

With it being a run out edition you know it has every last bell and whistle thrown at it and it's such a boisterous little thing it makes me want it more. 6.5 to 62. Colour me interested!

I spend quite a bit of time with a standard Corsa VXR at my last job. The engine was good but the handling was dull and the ride nothing short of offensive, particularly down bumpy b-roads. That and it seemed pretty poorly built and we had quite a few issues with it.

The diff and the dampers on this version might have cured my main gripes though.

Noticed a few corsa VXR's popping up on leasing sites. £149 a month for a little pocket rocket is amazing value.

Also, don't forget people, this is vauxhall, the people that offer

- 0% finance and you decide what deposit
- lifetime (100,000mile) warranty
- Partners discount - can be up to 15% last time i checked
- Dealers love a discount too!

Also, has no one noticed? the price of cars has gone up. You can pay £22k for a one up from bottom honda civic!

I loved the corsa Nurburg, i assume this is the same under a different name. LSD alone makes this a good, focused car. Just hope they sorted the ride
