Ferrari show be on the "bad numberplate" thread!
I wasn't sure whether to put it there, but there's nothing really wrong with the plate - it's not mis-spaced (I don't think, maybe the BE is too close to the 57), and they hadn't messed with the 57 to make it look like 'ST' either. I considered that thread, and also the 'good plates' thread purely because it hadn't been messed with, despite the temptation.Callughan said:
That lives on the road all year on a very busy road. Glad the owner enjoys it as a daily.
It's not on the road all year, last year it was park in Mayfair for a couple weeks, whilst we had heavy rain, but it was good to know it moved a little and not just sat in a garage. Edited by Callughan on Tuesday 26th August 23:20

Apparently the first (saloon bodied) one caught fire and was destroyed. This is the MkII incarnation.I'd wager it isn't a 'Spitfire engine' though. More likely a Rolls-Royce Meteor than a Merlin and therefore more likely to have come out of a tank, such as the Centurion. Same 27 litre V12 block, but detuned, heavier, and with more 'robust' ancillary components, but lacking the 2 stage supercharger of the Merlin. Merlins are far too valuable as spares and for use in rebuilds and restorations of aircraft to be 'wasted' in one-off car projects these days.
(32 Armoured Engineer Regiment destroyed three RR Meteor engines (and the AVREs they were fitted in) in accidents during the first (1991) Gulf War.)
