Jaguar have built a TVR (in a good way).
Wouldn't go that far. TVR were more about completely stripped out, lightweight road cars with lots of power. I'd say this is a little closer to a sporty GT car ala Aston Martin V8 Vantage than a TVR.

Thanks! I assume Chris was at the same circuit. I didn't think it was Portimao.

Was I the only one who read that as Peter Sutcliffe's version?

I know prisons are soft these days but allowing a serial killer out to go to Spain to thrash a new Jag would have been ridiculous.

My assumption that it was Barcelona could be wrong due to the different dates. Which circuit was Mr Harris on?

smile Thanks for that link. That being Brundle's E-Type reminded me of a Russell Bulgin coulmn in CAR when he interviewed a car addict, someone that kept changing and buying cars. That addict was Martin Brundle.

This and the Lotus Exige are surely the most exciting £60k ish cars out there? The Cayman is a bit bland and even the 991 has less appeal for the keen driver...How things change.

Another good video as usual. smile This car looks great and they've managed that whilst conforming to modern regulations that seem to dictate a tall bonnet and boot. I can't think of any car off the top of my head that has a better exterior design and is available for less money.
The interior looks Aston-ish and quite nice on video but Chris picked up that it's cheap in places. In that way the F type is like the 2002-2012 Range Rover. The 'premium' interior of that model looks quite nice in photos but they look cheap in places when your're sat in one especially the earlier models.
Anyway it sounds and looks great I hope it sells well.

Seem to remember that. Wasn't it that he never kept a car longer than 9 months so rarely had to do a service or an MOT?

I seem to remember it mentioning an NSX?

The 6 pot Sutcliffe was driving wasn't the one that Brundle and Jake drove to Spa for the GP a couple of years ago was it? I am sure that was a V12.

Hmmmm.

While I agree with the new 911 being a little poor (it's a boring car, no sense of occasion) you'll probably average half the fuel consumption of the f-type... Which is ridiculous.
A golf diesel is also more economical...

Drove an 'R' yesterday and REALLY liked it.

Properly quick, enough 'drama' without being too much of a handful and the ride was perfectly good, even on some so-so road surfaces.

I have reservations about residuals, which would stop me jumping on one now. I am tempted instead to look at a roadster, with V8's now dropping below £60k.

I haven't desired a 911 since the old 964 so they were never on my shopping list. This has to be my next car. Can't decide V6S or V8S and whether to wait the manual. I suspect the auto would be better 99% of the time. Can't decide which colour either. Carbon or steel brakes? Should I wait for the R-S? fk! I've never been indecisive in my life up till now.
