That was one thing I had considered. They're usually extortionately priced, but serve a purpose, I suppose. Previously, I've found my insurer amenable to insuring both cars (as I mentioned, my A8 and Impreza were on my policy for a month for about £20, which was a great help when it came to selling the car). As Adrian says though, the scammers continue to spoil things for others. Previously, I've never run into any issues with cars having multiple insurance policies (often through different insurers) for separate drivers and separate classes of use, though I deal with that sort of thing all the time at work. Usually it comes down to 'you were driving at the time? You're liable on your own policy first and foremost', irrespective of any other policy or interest on the car. As you say, if driver A and driver B both insure car X separately, why should A suffer a claim on their policy for damage to the car in the event of a crash if B was driving? It's ludicrous, though I know from experience that insurance company investigators tend to be pretty sloppy and unskilled so I can see why having to consider two separate policies on one vehicle could be a real headache for them.

About a year ago I saw a be-leathered, hard looking 'biker-bloke', stopped at the traffic lights on my daily dog walk. Big flash trike, lots of leather, lots of (apparent) attitude, open face helmet, goggles etc. Front of the trike, just behind the rider, had a small platform on each side. One the RHS was a lovely brindle coloured Boxer, bolt upright, with goggles, looking like the coolest, hardest Boxer on the block. Magic!
Chaps, bit on an issue on the W124. On several occasions over the last week I have pressed the rear headrest button and the headrests have stayed resolutely erect. Pressing again did not cure the malfunction. Giving the button a push on a later trip resulted in them flopping down as desired. Is there a fix for such intermittent performance?

Looks good but noisy cam could be oil spray bar problems? Mix of 3 different brands of budget tyres as well. I think you could be in for an immediate big spend on that if you bought it. In other news 0a your old e23 is back on the market again, after I purchased it and my mate dinged it I required him to buy it from me which he did. He has now sourced the parts to put it right but with a new job and e30 m52 328i project he feels he is never going to get round to it;

I drove it back from London to Edinburgh (leaving at about 10PM due to a plane delay if I remember correctly and getting in at 5am!) and it got me there, driving the A1 it felt like I was a thrusting exec back in the 1980s.
It was twitchy at the back end though, negotiating a wet roundabout on that first trip with slight enthusiasm revealed a rather independent back end - from memory the tyres were not particularly old; I learned to take it easy and to be alert when 'leaning' on the car.

My insurer (those with a ranking officer in the navy type name) have rubbished the idea. Speaking to the bloke on the phone, his first question was "does the other vehicle have a policy of insurance?". I hope that this has not thrown a terminal spanner in the works. I'm already in for a £25 train ticket! It also is frankly annoying when you ring up expecting customer service and get broken English from the speaker on the other end. Again, adding to my phone bill because the speaker is hard to understand and needs to stop and think about what he is saying. Extremely unimpressive service and potentially dissatisfying enough to see an end to several years of insuring with these cowboys.

I can attest to that colour looking rather swanky, suave and sophisticated. The proper brand tyres are a good sign and '99 is post nikasil (I know it shouldn't be a problem now but there's always that slight doubt...). A quick question for e38 beards - is the lower 10% of the body normally black (ie at the bottom of the doors?)? I can't remember seeing this before. Probably just me though.
I bagged my E39 for half that. Bet it needs the usual cooling refurb and there's potentially the fuel tank malarky so that car could get expensive...

It could be an utterly epic trip back to Northumberland via Carter Bar, or even better heading south over the border at Kielder Water. Either way, it's a couple of hours. I hada a similar sounding issue with the drivers window on the R129. Annoyed me for months. Intermittent fault solved by changing the switch. £20 on Ebay and half an hours work. 0a said:

Thanks, Oa. As you know, I have an irrational romantic attachment to these cars. I'm glad some use can come of it.
