What that be?? biggrin
Holden Commodore SSV Sportwagon - 6.0 V8 pushing out about 360bhp but easily tuneable to 4-600bhp.

Probably better to go for the HSV version - 425bhp and again easy to get up near 6-700bhp.

That looks awful.....

It's not a looker like the Jag though is it. In fact that is f-f-fugly!!!!
The cooking XF isn't a bad looking car since they sorted the lights (but be prepared for the 90's if you venture inside) shame the XFR-S looks so tacky.

I would look better if they had pressed some new flared panels rather than sticking bits of plastic on it whilst nipping down to Motorworld for a set of wheels.

90s interior? Get a grip. When it came out in 2007 everyone was jizzing in their pants at how fresh the interior looked. If you like the Merc interior more then fine - it is nice to touch - but to say the XF's interior is out of the 1990s just makes you look silly.

Absolutely! I still think the interior looks way better then the German crap, and better quality too. 33k on mine now, and no rattles. My previous German cars had been in the dealers many a time by now.

Saw one yesterday on the A507 between Baldock and Cottered! In the blue, looked fantastic.

Much better in the flesh - different angle

There was one for sale near me - 818bhp, RWD, Manual and apparently was near 10sec 1/4 mile.

The Saloon version is 1/3rd of the price of the XFR S out here in Oz.

You expected a two tonne estate car to be faster than 300kmh / 186mph and 0-60 in 4.6s?

Holden (GM Australia) and Ford Australia will stop making cars in Aus in 2016-2017, so if you want one then you better get in there pretty quickly.

Any idea what the handling is like?

Sidewards laugh

Not bad, imagine a Monaro esque experience I understand but I figure you don't buy an 1800kg, RWD estate for the handling.

Well it'll be no Elise, that's for sure.

I've never driven one of those but have noted that the reviews for both XFR-S saloon and estate mention a penchant for oversteer. True as that may be beyond the limits I can say that the saloon at least generates a lot of grip and the handling is very precise and predictable. You can drive it quickly with confidence. It's not an Elise, but it is clear where the extra money over the standard XFR went. It really is rather good to drive, and there's more to it than just power.

Rs6 in every way. Love the xf-r but as an estate, does not work and colour does make it look like a Holden in its best suit
