Looks the two red cars have parking problems as well, too far from the edge.

Part of me thinks "what a tool; if you can afford that but don't it scratched, buy a hatchback for doing your shopping". The other part of me thinks it's a shame that general standards of driving are so sh*t he has to park like that to avoid getting it dinged.

Until he finds he's been dinged with a shopping trolley.

Nope, don't agree with that - that's good parking.

The driver of that VW Touran is the problem here. If the Macca driver tries to park in the space next to the Polo, he's bound to have someone try to wedge themselves in the space next to the Touran - probably resulting in damage caused to the 650S. Alternatively, if the Macca driver tries to park in the space next to the Touran, he'll be too wide and some twit will probably try to wedge themselves next to the Polo; again, probably resulting in damage to the 650S.

ETA: Plus, he's folded in his mirrors so that's a definite 11/10 for parking prowess.

I would say parking like that he is at a far higher risk of a trolley, micro scooter, handbag, chav with key than he would be from a door ding if he parks sensibly out of the way. Cock.

I once squeezed right up to someone who'd just parked like the Touran (they were still in the car), so I was still (just) within the lines.

The large lady in the passenger seat then looked at me, wound down the window, and said "you've parked so close I can't get out", for which I apologised profusely, telling them I tried my best to go as close to the line on the other side as I could. Husband walks out, sees how badly he's parked, gets back in and moves it so his wife can get out.

Too many people alway seem to use the door ding excuse, rather than admit that the place they have chosen is closer to the shop door.

Facebook vid, but think this belongs on here. Skip to about ~38 seconds if you don't want to watch half a min of sawing back and forth.

How did you know that the VW Touran parked first?

Not sure how anyone can claim that's "defensive parking" to avoid dings, etc. Surely it's more likely to attract that sort of attention?

Alternatively (based on other threads / posts on PH) maybe the owner was thinking:

possible Pistonheader that can't park for st said:
fk it, this car park is rammed and no spaces are available. Oh well, i'll just create my own wherever I like as I'm a powerfully built company director. I suppose if anyone does damage my car while it's there, then i'll just have to post in the SP&L section of Pistonheads and ask for advice on who I can sue as it's someone else's fault, not mine. I must remember to make sure I claim that the car was actually parked totally legally in a space when the damage occurred though

I'll just abandon my van (blue one) here, whilst I pop to the shop; blocking this row of pumps and also the main entrance to the garage:

That's the same van who nearly knocks me off my bike most mornings on my way to work. Great way to advertise a business eh? silly

Burtonwood Services on the M62 today. There was an abundance of spaces but FFS this was what caught my eye.
