Traffic wardens threatened by school run parents... class! frown

As much as wardens are unlikely to be applauded on PH, this is exactly the sort of thing every warden in every town or city in the UK should be doing. Parking around schools is a massive issue and one of my pet hates when driving around towns and cities - parents turn into absolute animals if you challenge them as well so it's no surprise the wardens want police protection.

If I had tried to move the VW back I still wouldn't have had enough room to get the SAAB out (inches in it!) and I'm not really supposed to use the VW OTR without my wife being involved in the trip in some way (clause in the motability insurance as it is so heavily adapted or something). Inconsiderate parking fools!

They came back while I was posting the pic on another forum so I missed my chance to speak with them. Had been there for up to 2 hours, not quite sure as I don't watch out of the window all day! The police were on the way too after I called 101, I was surprised that they cared at all but it may have been a quiet day. Cancelled that promptly.

For the eagle eyed, yes my dropped kerb does not extend right across but I DO NOT bump up or down the kerb as it damages the car (sunken drain + SAAB wheelbase + housewards sloping drive = removal of mudflaps at least). I have perfected getting on and off at an angle and straightening up for the drive while I save up for more driveway space on the lawn. The Scenic is well over the dropped kerb, the VW would only make it out by turning left enough to have the rear wheels cross the neighbours drive, luckily no fence.

I was not a happy chappie, nor was my daughter who wanted a ride in the SAAB (warm place to sleep with good stereo, she likes the smell of leather and wood veneer I think!).
TWO HOURS!? Tried shaking the car until the alarm goes off?

Perhaps it's the camera angle, but your cars seem to be hanging out over the footpath?

Two corkers from our local hospital. Check out the one pulling in behind the Audi in the second picture.

Freight Line South West - parking on zig-zags while you pop to the cash machine isn't the best idea.

Similar thing in Aberdeen today, the council had to replace a broken paving stone on the access to a pedestrians crossing. Immediately at the end of the zig zags, and where the double yellows started, a van had parked to unload, rather than the council workers park in front of it, (which means they have to add the length of the vehicle to their walk back to the broken paving stone), just parked on the zig zags.

But it was OK, they put their revolving yellow light on. This particular road in town is abused by drivers 7 days a week, cant ever remember a warden down there, strange that.

For our local readers, its School Hill.

One of our own laugh

To be fair, If I had a brand new GT3 RS, i'd probably double-park it too. And it doesn't look too busy.

Sainsburys Balham, Saturday. I know there is a post within the parking space but he could have done better than that.
What purpose does the post serve, seems an odd place for it?

Looks like it may be guarding a lamp post from the Bad Parkers.

I'd make an exception for that based on the balls it'd take to park a £200k+ car in a supermarket car park! eek

2 from this morning.

Lady driver that rocked up and abandoned their Juke on the, now pretty much non existent due to other retarded parkers, grass verge complete with sinkhole puddles. Queue jokes about it being the closest to off road it will ever be, etc:

Then this beauty turned up 30 seconds later. Elderly bloke dumped the car, got out, and staggered straight into the bookies, just out of shot, clutching what appeared to be a sizable wedge of cash in his hand.

Again, stupidly small Sainsbury's parking spaces though. If I'm in the T4 when I'm going shopping they lose the custom to Tesco or Aldi which are a mile further away but both have spaces you can actually park in and open the doors.

It's the camera angle, they are in line with the hedge/path edge.

Good to see PH at it's best. Bloody hell, someone parks over my drive for two hours but you want to reprimand me for what you think is a 15cm overhang that isn't even there? Cheers for the input.

Technically though, no matter what you do with your steering wheel upon arriving home or departing your driveway, the car in the photo is only blocking a small part of your dropped kerb. Stop being a tightwad and pay the council to have the dropped kerb extended to the width of your driveway or stop complaining.

That hedge is beginning to look a bit straggly, though!

We used to have the same problem on our street; we eventually persuaded the Council to put in some wooden bollards, so we now have grass verged again instead of muddy holes. Mind you, we still get the odd especially retarded driver who will manoeuvre their car in and park it betweeen bollards, on the verge.

If it's like our hospital it will be packed solid. They should stagger visiting hours so different wards have different times.

Agree 100% there - how they haven't implemented staggered visiting nationwide is bizarre. I went to visit a relative a few weeks ago and the scrum in the car park and queue for tickets was incredible.

Our local hospital has an excellent bus service stopping outside its entrance, the mentality is "Oh the car is quicker", where I work it is close to the hospital with our own small PRIVATE car park, often we see people park in it, and when challenged, its "Well where do you expect me to park, the hospital car park is full".......
