I'm sure I saw an article somewhere about a householder who had some twunt park in their drive to go on holiday. It was near one of the big airports. I seem to remember BiB only got involved when the householder blocked the dhead's access to the road. When it was someone parking on a private drive, it was a "civil matter sir". As soon as the poor householder threatened to have it moved, or blocked it in, it was a "potential criminal matter".

Too many fkwits parking where they like, never challenged by anyone with the authority to punish them or move them on. All this does is builds the sense of entitlement in those who behave badly, and they keep on doing it. I imagine if the householder in this case put a 'bed of nails' homemade spike strip on her empty driveway, the miscreant parker would have complained to plod and she would have been up before the bench on criminal damage charges.

In my opinion, anyone 'accidentally' damaging a vehicle parked so as to obstruct a footway, cycle lane, or junction should receive immunity from prosecution for said damage. Park like a tt and you (and your precious mowtahhhh) deserve everything you get... tongue out
Was it this one?

what is the law vis-a-vis 'abandoned' cars or things like this? Is it trespass? What?
"The offender in this case claims to have made a genuine error and got confused about which house he should be parking in front of."

How does that work, someone says you can park in front of my house, and they forget who it was, right....

F18RSC explained it. People sell their drivespace. The renter got the wrong house.

Is it just because so many examples in this topic are highlighted of drivers deciding their cars are above all others and take up two spaces straddling the white lines or is it just becoming a more 'accepted thing' ?
It's only acceptable to the original fkwits and other like-morons that to do it themselves - but don't like the things people do and say at the time behind their backs in the shop.

Allegedly.

But, I also call bullst, or just plain ignorance for not checking like a normal person would.

I managed to park the black van which is longer but same rules don't apply for white ones.

dunno what you use your van for, maybe you're a city boy with some rugged lifestyle brokeback mountain fantasy going on, but most of us that using one for work often use those inordinately large side doors for loading large objects.... that perhaps parking 8" from another car or van to line up in a typical bay hinders and risks damaging other persons car...

Why the condescending tone?

When it comes to putting large things in your van (or car), couldn't you move it?

I Tried that a few months ago in a Tesco car park, Reversed Parked LWB Van into parking space, returned to van with shopping, could not open side door could not open back doors, Opened drivers door and managed to squeeze in, Moved van out of space so I could open doors and started to load shopping, The car park was full so moved van completely out of the bay and parked parallel along side of a couple of cars to load shopping again, then while loading shopping other shoppers returned to the cars I had parked parallel to, they were not impressed that I had blocked them in while loading! NO WIN, when even trying to free up a bay frown

That's expensive. I'd have added "many thanks" and filled up me little motor with as much as it could take. Seriously though, out of order - a "mistake" my A! shoot

Wouldn't BiB have got it moved or would it be a civil matter?
If BiB tried to make you move the gravel, I would enquire as to what legislation they are using to force you to move your property on your private land?

Anyway, on a lighter note, I think I shall print some of these off.

Did you ever consider that this wasn't bad parking and actually cleverly thought through to deter others from parking next to me and banging their doors against my new car....I'm guessing not based on my assumption on your low level of intelligence, wondering round taking pictures of cars you'll never own. All the best you sad sad person...regards, prize plum smile
At least when someone keys the sh*t out of every single panel of your exceptionally prestigious and rare motor-carriage, you'll know why.
Hopefully not. As annoying as his parking is I can't condone keying someones pride and joy.

Spotted this one today, bit of an odd car park with double parking. I could kind of understand if they'd parked that far out further forwards, they could then have got out from the "blocked in space" past the kerb but as it stands its just terrible parking.

Protecting car from dings on end space. Spot on parking.

That's true. Mind you, if there were no other spaces or even if perhaps I was feeling somewhat belligerent, I would still have a go at fitting my Range Rover in the area towards the right of that Audi without actually touching its rare and expensive paintwork.

They actually give out tickets for parking over the line in this car park.

If they did that in our local Sainsburys they would run out of tickets.
