Whats the delta when new to now of the E46 M3 and M3 CSL. Cant say Ive seen the CSL cited as 'too expensive'.
Interesting comparison, the premium for a CSL over a standard M3 is about 200%, the increase of an Mugen RR over a standard FD2 R is about 130% Edited by Type R Tom on Tuesday 3rd June 16:00

how would you describe the buyer for this niche - is its a Honda race driver? someone who collects mugen cars? a museum? a Honda tuner?
I cant help but think that there is emotional link to Honda here, am I right?
What? Like a prospective niche owner who would buy a niche car? I cant help but think that there is emotional link to Honda here, am I right?
Lovely car btw.
I bit.... it took a while, but i bit.
Whenever someone posts something like 'chav wagon', or 'could have a Porsche' about Type R Hondas they clearly have never driven one, or if they have havent lived with one long enough.
Just a point as well, check the BHP per litre of many Type R variants and the S2000 compared to their contemparies. I think this highlights what special cars/engines they are, nothing else but exotics come close.

The RR is one of the best FWD cars ever made, with a sublime engine, world-class reliability and extreme rarity.
But ~£35k for a second-hand everyday Honda is rather toppy. As is ~£50k for an overhyped BMW CSL.
Conclusion: the UK car market is getting into "silly money" territory and is approaching a peak in the up-cycle...

Either that or it's a sign that you can't buy cars such as these brand new any more - everything too heavy and lowest common denominator these days, at least in the sub £50k bracket.
Pretty much this. Everything now is bloated. Give me a 1000kg 90's hot hatch over anything out today.not sure if this compares but for those who like hot Hondas;

I am the seller and owner of this car and a deposit has already been taken at the full asking price, so it can't of been over priced
Then later: "I have paid a fee to PH to sell a car, my pictures have been re-used and the article which would not of helped my discussion with any potential buyer" I don't really care about the car - but being a Grammar N**i I DO dislike all this use of "can't of" and "not of" - it is "could HAVE" and "not HAVE".
There, I feel better now. :-)
Nice car but an awful lot of money. Nice job to find the person who wanted the car. I can't see the point of the seller complaining to PH about the use of the photographs though - what is that all about?
Seller: "I put my pictures your public classified ads. web site and you have made the pictures errrm ...... public ............ which I think is unprofessional."

There is some nonsense on here....
All cars are expensive, sports cars even more so. A Clio 200 is still about £12k used, for a CLIO! BUT, the point I am making is that you pay for the engineering that has gone into making it fast. The RR happens to be rare also, which in turn knocks up the price.
Look at the E30 M3 (note, I am not directly comparing this to the RR just using it as an example) a used one could be had for cira £15K a few years ago, I have seen some recently for £40K on here. Madness. That's not to say it's not worth it to a guy/girl with the money looking to buy one. Just appreciate it for what it is. I bet it would be great fun to drive.
