I like the BMW pickup that Chaos posted.
Shame that these are subject to IVA,making way more red tape to do such conversions.
Always been partial to a cut down car to pickup.
I'm quite a fan of pickup conversions to. However the whole point of the IVA is to inspect & ensure that a rebuilt car is of a high enough standard to be safe to use on the road. If it's a good enough build getting an IVA is a relatively painless 1 off experience and then you'd be able to just MOT the car on a ongoing basis. I suspect though that chopping the roof of a BMW an welding a bit of 206 bootlid to fill part of a hole and leaving 2/3 the roof/boot area exposed hasn't done a great deal to improve the structure of a 30year old car:-(Shame that these are subject to IVA,making way more red tape to do such conversions.

Is that a 206 rear hatch on the back of this tastefully modified BMW?

Advert indicates its currently not MOT'd, and has probably been de-registered by the DVLA for failing to undergo an IVA test under the Radically Altered Vehicle scheme.http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/282374637058?_mwBanner=1
Nasty surprise for the new owner, no doubt.

I'd put money on that being a replica. Many bits are wrong for it to be a DB5 underneath all the st. aka_kerrly said:

However, if you've gone to the trouble of spending amounts of time and money building something you want, a £600 test isn't the end of the world. PLus you don't need an MOT for 3 years like other 'newly registered' vehicles.

There's a thread running on it in the Aston section. Allegedly the photo was taken at the Aston Workshop in Beamish and the car belongs to a Saudi prince. He supposedly has multiple other Astons including a DB5 convertible. Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
