I don't know the background to the build, running gear etc, but so much work's obviously gone into it yet the finished article just doesn't work for me. Escort X pack-style box arches, Sierra(?) front and back bumpers and a ridiculous rear spoiler just don't work with the distinctive angular (pun intended) shell. Shame.
The bumpers are Mk4 Escort RS Turbo (or XR3i)

I don't know the car (although someone on here might), but I highly doubt that is badly modified. It's stupid low, so it's surely on air bags.

It looks a bit wild, but with drag radials at the rear, full cage and window net, I'd suggest on balance that this is probably a well made thing.

Happy to be informed otherwise though!

That is spectacularly brilliant.
I don't care if I can't get in or out of it, or once I am in that I can't see out.
I want one.

I think it's based, or partly based, or something, on a Nova kit.

It's errm, quite eye-catching, isn't it? eek

Yep, the main structure is a Nova.

Designed by Richard Oakes who also designed the Tramp beach buggy and the Midas kit car.

Looks like it's based on the kind of car you'd draw when you're five years old.

A normal Nova is a good looking thing, often people seeing one for the first time ask if it's a Lamborghini.
Originally designed for the Beetle floorpan and running gear in the 70s but other stuff has been put into them since.

That's the one.
I first saw one mid 70s,parked outside The American Way burger bar in Cheam,an establishment that still exists to this day.
Being a spotty teen,I thought it looked awesome.
I think I found out what it was from Hot Car magazine.
