When I was 17, my first car was a black GXL, loved the noise of it's twin webers and those deep cowelled gauges but I got pulled over a few times by plod because non standard colour. Happy days indeed.BarbaricAvatar said:

It's in the correct topic. This one looks particularly half-assed, unlike other 3 series pickups that have done the rounds in GG. Turbotechnic said:
That's a shame, I can see why someone might think that would be a good idea, but it just looks awfulSaabaholic said:

Intriguingly also spotted in Wiltshire (I'm assuming the minibus is 'at home')....I do hope the Volvo was just a practice run...anyone got a clue from where the 3 series back window and metalwork came from?
I to am quite a fan of pickup conversions and have seen quite a few VW & BMW builds that have been done to a really good standard. For some reason I think Ive seen that E30 and it was Pug 206 boot lid hacked apart to make the rear section.

Am I right in thinking 99.9% of these modern-monocoque-body-chopped-into-pick-up cars will never get another MoT?
They'll get an MOT because they know some bloke who'll do it whilst looking the other way, however as soon as anyone cuts into a monocoque, it becomes an un-registered Radically Modified Vehicle and needs to pass an IVA test before it can legally go back on the road.Shuvi McTupya said:

I pity anyone who buys one, cos it's scrap unless they can pay for the IVA (and it passes)
