Don’t get me wrong, I’m a huge Yank motor fan (including the IROC Camaro ) but this isn’t the way to treat one! I’d include the dodgy looking rear arches too

It's modelled on a period 70's custom job.

Not 'badly modified' per se, it's just the style hasn't really aged well.
