hehe I was thinking more along these lines (pretty much the only photo i could find on Google)

I do miss the Max Power period. There were many atrocities created by skint dreamers, but some really nicely done stuff. 20 year old me would have loved that 5GTT (I'm 41, bang on my era)

I can very clearly remember a red/pink s2 escort rs turbo with the twin exhaust exiting out of the number plate area but I can't for the life of me find it anywhere

Seems it was made into a subtle Escort, won't be scrapped or anything

In the US written off cars go through Copart and can be tracked by their VIN. It brings up an interesting game of how people flip cars they have not repaired but have simply made to look easier to repair. As most people are bidding on cars they have not seen it’s easy to get away with it.

For example........
This was for sale with a buy it now price of $65k

2 weeks earlier it looked like this when it sold for $45k

Turning a thrashed and crashed race car into a lightly scuffed previously loved pride and joy.
They even reused some of the pictures from the original ad of the inside.

Given the location of the minge panel on the passenger side too and the mention of the car being Cat D (and that the seatbelt pre-tensioners have triggered but not replaced) I would have a suspicion that a corner has been cut and the split dash has not been replaced.

I'm torn whether to put this here or the other thread... I kind like the "don't give a fk" attitude of it...

Is it real tho?

I think this wins. P38 with a new RR rear end, RRS front end and a lovely dragon on the bonnet.
