It seems I have introduced a new game! laugh

Anyone borderline, do the test again with someone alongside you that knows you better than you know yourself and get them to answer the questions on your behalf just for fun.

For those well up the spectrum, take a look at this, if you cut through the mumbo jumbo a few things may strike a chord with you

I got 15 but it was a crazy questionnaire. I think the people who devised it must be nuttier than their intended victims, because the questions were idiotic and didn't have any kind of context. Depending on each individual situation, any of the four answers could've been true of anyone, so no score could actually mean anything at all.

It was the sort of thing I'd expect a Ferrari owner to enjoy rotate

The whole paper about the Aspergers Quotient and research can be found here.

I'll be happy to be corrected but according to Prof Wikipedia "In 2015, Asperger's was estimated to affect 37.2 million people globally" - that's about 0.5% or 1 in 200 and the paper above, the percentage of the male control group that got a score of more than 26 was 6.6% or 13 in 200 and 3.9% or 8 in 200 received a score of 32 or more. So it comes out that even with a score of 32 there is only 12.5% chance that a person would actually be suffering from Asperger Syndrome and 92.5% that a person with a score of more than 27 would not be suffering either.

Additionally the article points out that this is a screening tool rather than a diagnostic test.

Interesting how the inside front tyre is nearly off the ground. Not sure how much would be due to the inside of the road descending, which at least to some extent would be compensated for by the overall positive camber that would tend to transfer weight to the inside tyres.

I know that corner! It's on the B4391 between Ffestiniog and the A4212 Bala to Trawsfynydd road. That particular corner does have quite a drop in the crown camber right at the apex, which makes for a lively little yump out of the corner in either direction if you're committed.

Here's a couple of pictures of the same corner from earlier this year when I took Dan Trent out for some coaching:

Obviously I'd be happy to take your F1 up there to recreate the shot just to make sure Flemke...

Here's a random question which may or may not have been covered already Flemke....

What are the headlights like on the F1? Are they pretty poor by the standards of modern cars? Have you changed them some how, or is it not an issue? I'm assuming you probably don't drive the F1 at night a great deal?

At around the turn of the century, McLaren offered a headlamp upgrade to halogen bulbs. Most owners including me have done it, but, as you say, by modern standards the lighting is mediocre. I have driven the car at night a reasonable amount, but not at such speeds that my vision was shy of my stopping distance. Well, there was one fairly crazy midnight drive from London to Nurburg, but apart from that....

Greetings, everyone!

Back in 1995 or so, being 14 years old, I've started to be interested in cars, fast cars that is. We only had 3-4 regular magazines about cars in Russia at the time, and I've read them all through and through. One day, I've stumbled upon really short article regarding fastest cars in the world, I remember 959 and F40 on the list, but the article had only one picture, and that picture was of McLaren F1. Remark about McLaren was short - 0-100 km\h in 3,2 seconds, top speed - 370 km\h. It impressed me so much, as well as the picture of the car - it looked like nothing I've seen in the magazines so far.

Couple of years later, by someone's really good will, we had a translated localized version of British "Car" magazine, and off course I had every issue of it, as it was far superior to any of Russian automotive press of the time. One issue of it in 1997, had a comparison article about F50 and F1, it had some pictures of original car, but the featuring car was longtail GTR in "Fina" livery. I still have that issue at homesmile Needless to say, I fell in love with the car and I have collected any mention of it in the press, because internet only became more or less usable in 1998-1999 in my city. One of the first videos I've downloaded was the "Top gear" review of F1, short clip in such a poor quality, that it could be review of Rover Metro as wellsmile But the sound was more or less clear and the engine sound was great.smile

20 years later, about a month ago, we had a chat about "money no object" dream car in our "whatsapp" group. People were naming "usual suspects" like Ferrari, Porsche and so on, and I, obviously, named the F1. Some people in the chat, particularly in their 20ties, did not recognize the car and started asking some really commonplace questions, like "what’s its mileage". And although I have already read many years ago about mileage being quite modest for such a performance, I felt obliged to provide the more or less exact data. I thought "Surely, someone has posted correct figures over the years, I just need to find it" and quite quickly I've came across PH post "McLaren F1 questions and comments", the original topic by Flemke, which had the mileage information and SO much more. I'm now reading through the middle of "Flemke, is this your Mclaren vol 3", and it been such a fascinating read...

I really want to thank you, Flemke, for such a well-written and thorough replies, I have learned much more about the car(and sometimes about other cars you wrote about) than I did in previous 20 years. And it was and is (cause I don’t rush to see the final result of changes you've made to the car, but reading it post by post, chronologically) really interesting to see the flaws of the car and how you have chosen to solve it. That makes the F1 much more "real" for me, if you know what I mean.) Again, thank you very much for that, really appreciate it!

I'm also grateful to other PHers in all these "F1" topics, who posted interesting questions and not something like "how much will it cost to fill it with petrol"smile)

I apologize for making my first post on PH forum that long, and please excuse my English, its far from being my native tongue. I'm 10 time zones away from UK, in Vladivostok, Russia

I will add a random question too smile Flemke have you ever ended up in a dodgy part of town in the F1, a wrong turning into a dodgy estate late at night? Is it a worry with a car of that value.

Actually two random questions- your username, what is a Flemke?

You do realise you've just ruined a great potential game of "Call my bluff".

A Flemke is a fishing lure made from whale bone used by residents of northern Iceland.....etc.

What a wonderful first post....

BTW, The Flemke is a bi-annual dance employed by native Indians in the Navajo and Hopi Indian Reservations, specifically to celebrate the arrival of the rarely flowering Kadapul Flower.
