Interesting / bizarre and equally so - top lurking !
Please enlighten me, what is the connection and the bizarreness between and of a Fleetwood Mac lyric and a Russian article about cars?

What is that supposed to mean? confused

I shared my memories and the reason that brought me to this forum, but Ira have posted some article from 1995(its not the article I meant in my post, btw, because this is a typical car review, while the article where I learned about the existence of the F1 was more like a "Top 5 list", really short and it only had list of cars with perfomance specs and some short comments).
So, I'm really puzzled with both Ira's and "Murphy"'s posts and I Just dont get itsmile
Sorry for the offtop, but I really don' t like to be accused of any sort of dishonesty frown

I really want to thank you, Flemke, for such a well-written and thorough replies, I have learned much more about the car(and sometimes about other cars you wrote about) than I did in previous 20 years. And it was and is (cause I don’t rush to see the final result of changes you've made to the car, but reading it post by post, chronologically) really interesting to see the flaws of the car and how you have chosen to solve it. That makes the F1 much more "real" for me, if you know what I mean.) Again, thank you very much for that, really appreciate it!

I'm also grateful to other PHers in all these "F1" topics, who posted interesting questions and not something like "how much will it cost to fill it with petrol"smile)
Glad that you have enjoyed this thread. I have enjoyed participating in it. smile

I will add a random question too smile Flemke have you ever ended up in a dodgy part of town in the F1, a wrong turning into a dodgy estate late at night? Is it a worry with a car of that value.

Actually two random questions- your username, what is a Flemke?
No, I don't think that I have ended up in a particularly dodgy part of town (notwithstanding that some might say that the entirety of the UK is dodgy). It's never been a worry - it's not like if you stole an F1 you could strip it for parts.

As indicated, the user name refers to a late American racing driver.

I think it was just a misunderstanding between well-meaning people.

Peace. hippy

Flemke, on a similar note then, have you ever been on the receiving end of negative actions / jealous comments when out in the F1 (I hope the answer is no)?

A week or so ago I was stationary at traffic lights in a quaint little town in the Lake District and got a very animated "V"-sign from a chap in the passenger seat of a Fiesta, and I was only driving a Toyota GT86! laugh

No, nothing as far as I can recall.

I have a friend who has always said that he thinks most people who see my F1 don't recognise it as such and instead believe it is a kit car. Maybe that's the reason why I have received no negative comments: people pity me. wink

Either way, that's good to hear! smile

I just remembered another one. A few months ago I let a pedestrian cross the road in front of me and got thanked by being called a "flash ", I was driving my MR2 Roadster which cost me less than £1,000! laugh

Another cracker... This is almost worthy of a thread by itself...

I'm sure you will have met him in real life, are the shirts just a dashing media image/persona or general everyday attire for GM?

There's probably a fashion designer version of Gordon Murray about who has the McLaren F1 of shirt taste and drives around in the car equivalent of a shirt covered in pineapples.

I can assure you: the Hawaiian shirts are not reserved for only publicity photos.
You should see his jukebox collection.

And why not eh, that moustache basically gives him the right to do as he please when it comes to his attire. Anyone cool enough to wear that facial furniture is going to care less than nowt about what you think of him!
