It might be interesting for you to watch the video and highlight any 'loose' factual statements and their corrections
Also, am I correct in saying that the 'P1 MSO' badge on the side skirt is a sticker?
I am not looking to rain on someone else's parade, especially as I am unsure whether it is still owned by the person I know (a good guy, and not to be confused with the person who bought the car from me) or it is owned by Tom Hartley. I would rather not do a full analysis of what the fellow in the video had to say. I listened to the first one minute and that was more than enough. Also, am I correct in saying that the 'P1 MSO' badge on the side skirt is a sticker?
There is no such thing as a 'P1 MSO'. Almost every P1 that was built had some level of personalisation done to it at MSO. At the same time, McLaren do not refer to a car as an 'MSO' just because it's been worked on at MSO.
I presume that the 'MSO' label is a sticker, not paint. Under my ownership the car did not have that a label on the sill - I dislike labels and stickers and would never have wanted any such superficialities on the car. When I buy something that I want to keep, if it's got a label I will often try to remove it - I have used up quantities of Goo Gone!
The labels did not seem very 'Flemke' to me.

Well, he is basically a used car salesman, it comes with the territory.
I wouldn't have thought the territory of selling cars with the values TH deals with, would require such silliness. I'm never going to be a potential customer to them, but so many glaringly obvious "mis-facts" it would put me off using them...
It's a shame that a dealer in such exotica is either drawn to such exaggerations, or believes them. The car deserves better. If I were in the market for such a thing, I would investigate it none the less. And then detract a few thousands pounds from the price for every untruth to be told....
It's understandable that the hyperbole that surrounds such vehicles as the P1/F1 grows with each retelling so that truth quickly becomes distorted, basset hound. That is why I treasure this thread, the 1 degree of separation dissipates the myths.
I sincerely hope if anyone owns a T50 in the near future that a similar thread could be created!

if i was looking for a p1, this is the one i would buy
unforch the potential for ongoing mclaren company financial unpleasantness, plus the difficult issue that a modern McL is (to all intents and purposes) just as quick and supercar-y for a fifth/sixth (ish, 2nd hand) of the money, means there is significant risk of losing a lot of money on one of these if things go badly over the next couple of years.
I'd love it, but...

Did they every build a P1 without the hybrid system for racing?
Not according to this Wiki, but who can tell for sure? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McLaren_P1ArgonautX said:

unlikely, given how tightly integrated it is (doesnt it use the electric motor to start the engine?)
Since it's basically the same engine as in other McLarens, I'm sure it was not out of realms of possibility to stick a non-hybrid engine version in it Don1 said:

Depends on what one means by 'highest spec'. If one means best spec, that may be true (in my opinion, at least ). If one means most expensive spec, it was nowhere near that.
Without blowing too much smoke up your proverbial, it’s the best spec one I’ve seen for sale and it looks incredibly well prepared for sale at TH’s. He referred to it as the highest spec for sale in the vid (assume your didn’t get that far, can’t blame you!) and then said it was cheaper than all “comparisable” cars which is odd, as I can’t see how they can be comparisable if this is the highest spec!
Genuinely though, it’s a gorgeous car! And although he spouts a lot of crap I’d still buy it from him.

Have you never bought a Nürburgring sticker for any of your cars? When I first started going to the 'Ring 20 years ago I got one and had it on the back of a 993 for years. (This was before 'Ring stickers became commonplace on half the hot hatches in Britain! )
To me there is a big difference between showing loyalty, appreciation, or support by displaying a sticker or badge to signify something and trying to associate one's persona with a commercial brand.

You never know...although I doubt that the T.50 - which I expect will be a fabulous car - will ever become as legendary as the F1 is. The F1 was 'lucky' to have happened as and when it did, and those circumstances are unrepeatable.I sincerely hope if anyone owns a T50 in the near future that a similar thread could be created!

I do not believe that the situation is as bad as your worst fears, but it's true that there are reasons for some concern.unforch the potential for ongoing mclaren company financial unpleasantness, plus the difficult issue that a modern McL is (to all intents and purposes) just as quick and supercar-y for a fifth/sixth (ish, 2nd hand) of the money, means there is significant risk of losing a lot of money on one of these if things go badly over the next couple of years.

No. The whole point of the P1 is its hybrid nature. Yes, in theory one could remove all the electrical motor-related stuff, but, as others have indicated, it would be an absolutely massive job requiring a lot of replacing with new, one-off parts, and in the end all you'd have would be an under-powered (relative to its drag) P1.Have you got any trips planned when lockdown finishes properly Flemke?
Is there one car/bike that you have really missed taking out for a non-essential journey?
I know lockdown has given me a certain sense of clarity for the things that I enjoy and have missed or not done yet, so I plan to add them to the "to do" list when this is all over. Specifically a solo drive across Europe to a (as yet not defined) Grand Prix.

I want to go back to Germany and its fantastic driving roads/environment; hope to do so this year. Is there one car/bike that you have really missed taking out for a non-essential journey?

The car I most miss driving is probably the Rocket, because it has been so many years since I was last in it. A friend has been looking after it for me and, although I saw it last year, I am waiting for it to be serviced.
