Typically just Harry, does a walk around the car pointing out interesting features then a bit of a drive round the Cotswolds. The owners rarely, if ever, feature.

So the question would be whether one would be comfortable with him driving one's car?

If you have a few minutes spare to watch, here's his recent video review of a Carrera GT, which gives you a good idea of what he's about.

Well, most of the time he tests cars from dealers.
I remember an 928 review that was a owner car and the owner was featured.

It's a big question! I think Harry is a very safe pair of hands though. He's not out to prove anything to anyone and has been driving high performance cars for decades now, including his Zonda, so I wouldn't expect him to get carried away and do anything stupid.

Personally I think it would be a fantastic video as he is exactly the right sort of person to do justice to your F1. He's a proper enthusiast and knows his onions. You could even tap him up for those expenses evo still owe you from when you last lent them the car...

I believe that has been asked and answered previously with a polite no, as one might expect with £15m car owned by a man who had previously experienced worrying issues concerning his identity.

Usually just a talk about the car and its history, followed by a drive. He's a great reviewer though!

Here's an example of when someone recently lent him a CGT.

Exactly. I don't think he has crashed anyone's car yet wink

He tests lots of owner's cars. The one I linked to (Carrera GT) was someone else's. He's done loads of old stuff smile

Yes I think so. Would be great to see your car featured though, even if as it is so special you do the driving with Harry as a passenger (if someone his height can fit in one of the passenger seats). I'm sure if you did this and wanted to keep anonymity (as who you are is frankly none of our business and we would just appreciate being able to see the car) he would be very happy to focus the camera on the dash and hands on the wheel only. Harry's channel is what I see as 'the thinking mans YouTube' and he is always respectful with the cars he drives.

Your buddy Professor Gordon will vouch for him. Is that not sufficient.

I’ll offer to Chaperone him as passenger, I know you are caught for time.

Harry Metcalfe has to be one of, if not THE safest pair of hands in this context - in everything from how the car would be treated, to the privacy aspect.

Can't think of anyone who'd be a better fit.

It would be a very interesting video to watch, as the experience of driving such a significant car would be a bucket list item for any petrolhead, and Harry has those credentials. There are plenty of videos already about the F1, but very few capturing the effect the car has on a driver for the first time.

As you would expect the crowd around here are all going to be very supportive of any chance of vicariously sharing the moment. I would hope that a camera was on Harry's face the moment he truly experiences the throttle response, like Matt Priors' expressions when he drove the F1 in last years Mclaren Ultimate series - https://youtu.be/haVCTy8mfsQ - I think i would get the same dry mouth effect.

Given a carefully controlled environment away from public "interference" I would think the risk could be managed to an acceptable level, and after all it is what the machine was built for - being used and giving an truly unique driving experience.

Thankfully we will never see, or be interested in, a Chris Harris style of thrash and "drift it in slow motion around every turn " with whooping and hollering. If it was my car it would have to be respectfully shot. Anonimity for the owner actually draws focus onto the subject matter - the pinnacle of 20th century motor vehicle design.

Where can I pledge my 2c?

I doubt even the BBC could afford the insurance for that shoot.

Harry has already driven at least one F1, so it would not be the first time for him.

Could you not find a huge and flat open space?

As long as it doesn't flip over, nothing to worry about.

Not that the CGT is inexpensive but Harry also did an Aston One-77 which is slightly more costly than a CGT. Not that I think he would treat someone else's car differently no matter what the cost was. He certainly is considered a "safe pair of hands" when it comes to cars and his channel is a joy to watch.

Add me to the list for the slow mo drift club. Will never happen though. A review and maybe a hot lap would be great though.
