I love these nimble little darty cars, such fun.
That made me laugh. The fact that I seem to be the only one to notice it says a lot I think. The other funny thing is when people say x car will run rings around y car. Actually it won't. The driver will. And at that level of performance, your average road driver usually scares themselves at 6/10ths anyway. The weakest link will be the driver not the car, even the GTR. Your average enthusiast driver will favour a Caterham on track, however "slow" that makes him.
GTR is an amazing car, I've been fortunate enough to go on a track day, and this was one of the cars on offer. The power just keeps coming, no effort required to drive, and if it wasn't for the speedo, you'd swear you were doing much lower speeds.
Own a C63, and continuosly looking for reasons to take it for a drive. Obviously the power and noise are out of this world, but when other road users do a double take at the lights when they catch the 6.3 badges on the wings, or when gunning through a tunnel and the snap crackle and pop from the exhausts resonate off the walls, you don't regret the requent trips to the fuel station . Best is looking in your rear view mirror as pedestrians turn round thinking "WTF was that" as you floor it.
Both cars appeal to different markets, the GTR has a massive following in the aftermarket tuning sector, with people like Litchfield constantly changing the landscape. C63 drivers upgrading is a little less common in comparison.
That said they are both great cars

....these cars are all about big power - big lumps in the front - if you want a nimble little darty car then look elsewhere my friend and stop comparing apples with pears......The other funny thing is when people say x car will run rings around y car. The GTR looks awesome. I do love an AMG but come on, they won't touch a GTR.
I remember a wonderful quote on here from years ago. Anyone else recall it? Something like... (Re: scary fast circuit laps) - "I saw Jesus so many times I started using him as a braking marker".
That would be funny and clever, if it wasn't a butchered version of a quote from Kevin Schwantz talking about his Suzuki RGV500.I remember a wonderful quote on here from years ago.
