2 New Abarths - Discount?
Discussion
I wanted to buy from Research and Adam was very good but they didn't have what I was looking for in stock.
I've taken the plunge today with Meridien Milano and have no complaints so far. All going to plan, I pick up the car next Staurday (after a 7 hour drive to get there!).
Spec:
595 competizione
gara white (nice two tone colour from the pics)
tints
blue tooth
read leather sabelts
optional 17 inch white 5 petal alloys - much nicer than the standard wheels imo.
black abarth stickers on sides
Starting to get quite excited.

You were lucky getting anything at all out of them, tighter than a nuns ****.
Westover are good to do a deal with usually.
I was surprised myself - especially since I've now noticed the part leather seats as well. I guess I got lucky. Hope I like the car - certainly looks the part (imo of course) but will probably be a big change in terms of comofort for me. That said, I do very little miles due to commuting for a new job now.Westover are good to do a deal with usually.
We had a 500 diesel which was painfully slow but reasonably economical. We chopped it in for a new 500C Abarth about 3 years ago and it has now covered about 34,000 miles. We get about 35mpg out of it and most of the time is spent nipping around locally. Pick up is slow in normal mode, but sport sorts that out and it goes pretty well. We get about 15,000 miles out of a set of front tyres and it's still on the original rears. Servicing at main dealer is pretty ridiculous - I was quoted as much as £600 for the 32,000 mile service including the lifelong spark plug change. Ignore them and get it done at your local garage. There's nothing that complicated about them. The gearbox is ok once you get used to it, but is pretty basic compared to a DCT or a normal auto. There was no manual option when we got ours or that would have been a better choice. All in all we like it for what it does. We haven't changed it mainly for the reason that I don't know what we would change it for.

Thanks guys.
The car is advertised in the showroom for over £20k and the finance quote shows £17300 so quite a discount for an unregistered 64 plate.
The numbers you provided on what you will pay to them (if you pay it all of course) added up to almost £21k - where's the deal in that? Is it in getting the car financed for four years? I presume they move the line between unit and finance to make it work. I don't understand Fiat's service costs to be honest. We had quotes for servicing a Twinair that were also not on this planet.MrsFallon said:

Of the other finance quotes I've looked at, the total amount payable was significantly more than the cost of the vehicle. what I was offered for my p/x and the fact I'm paying less in finance than the car retails at struck me as a pretty good deal..unless I'm missing something of course...
You're missing that nobody would pay anything like the supposed retail price for an outright purchase. Discounts of 10-20% are possible on most new cars.ORD said:

Gutted - dealer has just called to advise that they don't have the Monza exhaust or accessory pack for the car yet.
Apparently it all arrives within a week of the dealer taking the delivery of the car but in this case, it's going to be delayed until next week because apparently the monzas are on back order.
Hate that feeling when you're all geared up for something and it doesn't go to plan.
The dealer sounded genuine enough but I find myself questioning why on earth Abarth don't send the parts that essentially make up the standard kit with the car in one go!
Bizarre!
