It's akin to the FACT the car does 300mph - the speedo goes up that high, so there.

It's quite clear that the One:1 is in a league of its own when it comes to track performance, and I just can't wait to see it go for the record.
Brilliant, just what this thread needs, another egg fanboy smile

By the way I do really like them, and hypothetical lottery win in place its the manufacturer I'd be knocking the door on ......but tom73 is needing some better facts other than a video which shows nothing to convince others.

Because when you find something brown on your shoe, it looks like dog st, you are pretty sure it is dog st, but you will smell it anyway, just out of curiosity.

So let's get this straight - Tom73 has never driven or been in either a P1, a Koenigsegg or 918 and is purporting he is right without any experience or factual evidence to back up his viewpoint yet he is continually pushing a theory of truth based on acedotal evidence and in disagreement with someone on here who has actually driven one?

It would appear to be something like that. Although, he did state for argument's sake he may have one or more of the cars discussed. Who knows?

No, that's my wife you're describing.

Well it's a lot more conclusive than any footage of Chris (or any other journo) drifting around a track and mindlessly orating about "a whole new thing" will ever be, and you boys were all fawning over those threads like someone handed you the mass-energy equivalence formula, so whether you like or not I will add a fistful of salt to your pseudo-scientific odyssey and scoff at it with a grounded sense of superiority.
So you really think a few bits of internet footage spliced together gives us as car enthusiasts a greater level of insight than the opinion of a professional motoring journalist who has not only actually driven the P1, but also it's key rivals? And I say that as someone who really couldn't care less about which one was fractionally quicker than the others around a circuit.

Your evidence can never be conclusive since we don't know the context of any of the bits of footage that constitute it. Chris's opinion on which car might be the fastest can never be conclusive until they've all been tested by the same driver, at the same circuit, in the same conditions.

And even then, who really cares? They're clearly all sensational cars (One:1 excepted at this point since I'm not aware of any independent tests having been done yet), 95% of owners won't be able to even approach the edge of the cars performance envelope and I'm sure that being a bit slower or faster than the others around a track won't impact the driving experience one bit.

See that's bullst - if you were that passionate about an argument you wouldn't evade the question/not prove evidence - you would provide proof and that would end it right there.

He's just a keyboard warrior making assertions without any shred of actual knowledge.

I tried a few out before choosing this one. I think they are all programmed to operate without complex raw data or functional analysis. Some kind of basic coding seemingly utilising information from Judge Judy and an old Gypsy palm reader.

I find them like buying a new electronic device - when you get it its awesome, so much better than the last gadget you had, more fun, different apps, proud to show it off. Then you get married/updating the software and its as if its broken - looks different, doesn't work properly, keeps crashing, takes up more storage space, slower and you wish you could go back to v1.0.

We did. And LaFerrari as well. But, there aren't any engineers on here that have worked on either of those, so Tom73 can't start an argument with the people who are actually paid real money to design and develop said cars and therefore know vastly more than said tool about such subjects.

I don't have a huge interest in supercars generally speaking (despite being easily able to afford them, obviously) so I haven't read up on the merits of the models in question but it does strike me that clearly the P1 didn't beat (or significantly beat) the 918's time or they would have released it.

That said, it seems to me that on a track as incredibly long as the ring then it would be extremely difficult to string together the perfect lap. When we're talking differences of a few seconds over 7 mins or so I reckon the best run would win, not necessarily the best car, at least until each has done many hundreds of laps anyway.

So rather than address what I think is a perfectly legitimate criticism of your analysis and an entirely reasonable request for some explanation of your apparent credibility in making it, you make a straw-man argument on a subject I haven't even referred to let alone discussed, and "scoff" at the mere suggestion that someone else, by virtue of their background and experience, might have a better understanding of the subject matter than yourself?

Right, glad we've cleared that up.
