Why does anyone reply to posters like these?
Because, and lets be honest with ourselves here. IT IS FUN AND MAKES US LAUGH........

Thing is, i'll all up for people to have their "favorite car" or whatever, but the odd thing about the OP of this thread is he takes no part in any other parts of Pistonheads. Even comedy hat wearing serial lunatics like 300brake could be found on other parts of the forum, discussing other stuff.
Tom73 has only ever posted about 'eggs and only when he has some sensationalist (and fatally flawed) pseudo argument to make.
I hope/think he enjoys it too, hence my reference to "oh no, here we all go again" in the 6th post on this thread.
I actually really don't have a preference between the cars, if pushed I'm not a Porsche fan at all but frankly I'd still love a 918! I commented because the video "evidence" is crap yet the comeback was just "you've been suckered by Chris and co". Er no. I don't care which is faster, your video evidence is just crap and not indicative, even if the One:1 was 20s faster than the P1 round the 'ring the video evidence is *still* crap.

The sad thing is that there is plenty of really really interesting stuff coming out from Koenigsegg eg:
http://www.gizmodo.com.au/2014/05/the-koenigsegg-o...
I suppose that's not bashing the P1 though so Tom73 isn't interested in posting it.

Me too! smile

Shame my local McLaren dealer is unlikely to have a P1 in so I can only dribble on the window over the 650S wink

To make this a little more topical, Tom73 is the Pistonheads equivalent of an I.S. fundamentalist fighter. Logic, reasonable argument or just plain common sense is lost on him.

It will never matter what you say to him or evidence you bring to bear he is incapable of seeing beyond his flawed faith. Maybe he is expecting 21 virgins to be waiting for him in the afterlife if he can stand his ground against the hoards of unbelieverslaugh

I find the F1 car in Marlborough colours more appealing in my local one, I can afford that as much as a 650's

If you look at the P1's exit you can clearly see he clips the slippery kerb on the way out and slightly loses the back end, therefore having to re-straighten and gain control of the car thus losing time.
Keeping on subject, this was the very first thing I noticed hehe On the four car comparison clip it actually pauses when the P1 has a 15degree slip angle compared to where it is supposed to be.

Its blindingly obvious for anyone to see, except Tom apparently wink

Is it just me or did the P1 short shift out of the 2nd corner...just before the straight and as it was going onto the rumble strip?

Sorry Tom73 - I fail to see why this matters at all to be fair. What point are you actually trying to make and what achievement are you looking for at the end of this...whether you are right or wrong?

Am I right that the One:1 still has minimal electronic driver aids (bar ABS) as per the earlier Koenigseggs?

If so then surely a more 'organic' method of producing phenomenal performance should be heralded....

I once overtook a Koenigsegg in my camper van on the M4.

That's absolute evidence that a Koenigsegg is slower than a 2.5 automatic diesel van full of bikes.

And I've never overtaken another supercar on that section of the M4, as they must have been faster...

Check

Mate.

I think there might be one or two variables in the OP's video.

Not a chance. Mind you, it's exactly the same mind-set that the YES campaign in Scotland currently has....

Can anyone with a games console please let us know which is the fastest street legal road car around the 'ring? Don't forget to use a selection of different drivers. At different times. Some don't even necessarily even need to be racing. But do let us know which was the fastest car according to the video evidence.

If you stand back and don't take anything seriously, this thread is awesome fun. Please keep it going biggrin

You don't even need video evidence. On the 'fastest car around the TT course' threads PH experts tell me that something like a Nissan GTR is faster than a P1, and an Impreza is faster than a GTR. In fact the video has all the wrong cars in it. To really show how slow the P1 is it should be compared to an Impreza.

My VW Bora (mapped) could go through that corner quicker than all 4 of those cars, I'd have to get it up on two wheels like but, you know, that's what I do...

Good Lord , he's still going. Where does he find the energy?

I'm a bit lost now, at what point did anyone say a P1 was faster than a One-2-One (not sure how you type it)? I'm not aware if anyone independent having even driven the thing.

I'm assuming young Tom will be volunteering himself for the 'Ring lap in the 'Egg?
