Anyway I hired a TR6 for the day,and the owner took me out for a few miles to 'see how I drove it' before handing it over properly. Anyway he complemented me on knowing what I was doing, and said 90% of people didn't have a clue how to drive a RWD car.
p.s. the TR6 was absolutely wonderful, one of the finest driving days ever
I'm thinking of hiring an older car at some point too. I had been thinking of a 911, as I've never driven one, ...I occasionally drive an MGB, but if the TR6 is good it may be worth consideration.p.s. the TR6 was absolutely wonderful, one of the finest driving days ever
I once did a skid car course in old 3-series'. Not in the entrance to the Trafford Centre on a Sunday lunchtime though....
I was surprised by the apparent lack of understanding of weight transfer of most of the other people, who were generally all over the place.
You can get away with a lot of ham-fisted on/off throttle action in a modern car, so skills can be lost.
motorbikes and some old cars do demand some thought, though, and consideration of loading and unloading the tyres.

There should be a Godwin's Law equivalent for somebody being branded a racist

Was the Jag pilot Asian?
By the remarks of "community relations" and "living up to stereotypes", it looks like some people have already assumed he was.
Stereotypically, Pilots are white, very middle class/posh and called Richard, Mike or David in my experience, I wonder if there are any Asian pilots in the RAF, possibly not a popular career in many Asian communities give the usual type of target in current conflicts.By the remarks of "community relations" and "living up to stereotypes", it looks like some people have already assumed he was.
We are all a bit of a stereotype at the end of the day,

Always think its a bit of a leap from noticing traits and preferences in a certain group and mentioning them and people saying you are racist, i.e. you actively hate members of that group. I discuss this with an Asian mate and he is quite happy offering opinions, I asked why I never really see Asian cyclists and why Asian folk generally don't own dogs, all made sense and is largely cultural.
There are differences between races/groups, perhaps actually asking questions and gaining an understanding is the key as the reasons are not always what you expect.

surely the police will see these videos along with the cctv footage and try and prosecute ?
Probably not, for the sake of community relationsApparently this community is so well known it lives up to a stereotype.

White, black, brown, yellow and even purple (if you're in Liverpool) - I put them all together, or are you saying I should be racially segregating them?
