RE: Ford Mustang GT: Driven
Discussion
I might have just found my next new car. I bought a 95 Mustang Cobra new when I lived over there and it was pants in nearly all respects but I still loved it. There's a sense of occasion in Mustangs that's just not present in most European cars at this price level. A job that involves me doing less miles than current will seal the deal.

Strangely enough I now find the recent crop of American cars more appealing than the European counterparts . The new vette, the hellcat , Camaro z28 etc all cracking bits of kit .
Finding the new Porsche , Ferrari , amg etc offerings a bit samey ( !!! ) , I can't believe I've just written that .
You're not alone - while European sports cars have embraced electric power steering and twin-clutch automatics en masse, the Americans have stayed more faithful to the original sports car philosophy. Some of the power figures are getting a bit absurd (i.e. where's it going to end?), though it's rather nice to think that your dealer can sell you a car with over 700hp. With a warranty. I never thought I'd find myself wanting a Mustang or a Corvette, but here we are. The times they are a-changin'.Finding the new Porsche , Ferrari , amg etc offerings a bit samey ( !!! ) , I can't believe I've just written that .

As I am getting used to barreling my massive Mercury sedan V8 through the London streets and starting to think that it actually handles ok, and is pretty fast off the line for a 2 ton car, the idea of this new Mustang really appeals and boy! will it feel lithe and fast compared to my old V8
still not sure about the styling, liking the interior though. It does look great in yellow

£35K +5K for a supercharger.....hello 911 turbo type performance (perhaps only in a straight line). This might be the next Monaro etc, but at 35k it will sell in bigger numbers than the rebadged Holden did.
Perhaps? P.S. My OCD meant that I had to change your spelling, grammar and punctuation; I mean no disrespect in doing so.

That looks absolutely stunning. £35k seems like good value, too.
When you weigh it up against competitors, it is quite compelling.
BMW M235i
Nissan 370Z
Not sure I can think of any more fast 2 doors coupes at that price.
I agree and at sub 35k it will be good value, but it will be the finance deals that will count. If they can match the Germans then I think it will sell. When you weigh it up against competitors, it is quite compelling.

And that will come down to residuals, which I think are quite hard to predict. I agree, the relatively high supply and greater appeal of a UK market RHD car is bound to drive prices down compared to the rather specialist earlier models.
I'd guess it'll do slightly worse than the "premium" German stuff but probably better than things like the 370Z and RX8. Perhaps on a par with the GT86? I suspect the V8 will have markedly worse residuals than the Ecoboost four, although I guess that'll depend heavily on the ratio of new cars sold.

Been looking at buying an older LHD V8 2007 upwards Mustang, but if this new one does what it says on the tin I can't help wondering if the older cars prices will now drop?
that really is a difficult one - the issue is that most earlier Mustangs are enthusiast bought and the LHD thing isn't really an issue for most. I guess it may persuade some that just wanted a Mustang to change up but I'd imagine that the vast majority of those looking to get the S550 will be fresh to the brandoh enjoy the vid too

That's fine happy to be upgraded grammatically speaking. I have no idea how well a mustang will handle I know the latest boss 302 had rave reviews I doubt a 35k car will come close to a 911 but I suspect getting very large bhp say 600 plus from the car will be relatively easy an thus you could have a 190mph plus car for less than a well spec'd three series. here you go - upset yourself! http://bp3.ford.com/2015-Ford-Mustang?branding=1&a...
finance for the S550 goes as low as 1.9% APR - somehow suspect we'll not see that rate over here
