This is a car website, why shouldn't people be proud of their cars. You are not forced to look at any pictures or read any posts.

I have to agree with ess on this one, it is literally every post. I love to know about people's cars as much as anyone but after the 10th time...Hand your badge in instantly

He's not stopped yet... he's hijacked the E46 M3 & Z3MC fourm today managing to bring his Z4 into the equation...I wouldn't say I 'LIKE' to drive it, but my wife's model year 2000 Volvo V70 has a 210 bhp turbo, cruises happily at 100 plus all day, takes acres of crap in the back if needed, keeps her happy and, with 235k on the clock after 16 years of ownership, is now worth all of £250 - maybe - so not worth selling until it breaks, which we've been saying for about 8 years, and still it goes on running and, once you're into third, has enough torque to outrun more modern stuff, so I mange to convince myself that yes, maybe I do 'enjoy' it.

Are there any threads on PH in which you haven't posted a picture of your 'new' Z4MC ?
Give it a rest man.

Sorry if I'm getting a bit over-exuberant about my latest car. Give it a rest man.

But it feels like I've come a long way from my first car, a MK2 1500cc Cortina with vinyl seats and rubber mats on the floor, rust everywhere, a clapped out engine and a kn*ckered gearbox!

I had a Toyota Aygo for about three months when my Camaro was being fixed. It was a terrible car to drive, but in the year it's been gone I do find I sort of miss the fun of trying to actually get the thing to go and the liberation of not having to care about mechanical sensitivity as it wasn't mine.
The acceleration is non-existent regardless of what gear you're in... all the fun comes from trying to maintain and carry the speed once you do get up to 50-60 on an A or B road, having to plan and precisely execute an overtake rather than just wafting past on a wave of instant torque, all whilst batting against the skinny tyres and rather roly-poly suspension. As I've already said, it requires far more fun driver involvement than any previous performance cars I've owned.

I can't tell the difference between FWD, RWD & 4WD
& given the choice between Porsches & a range rover, I normally take the asmatic Fiat 500.
That’s easy& given the choice between Porsches & a range rover, I normally take the asmatic Fiat 500.
Fwd you go through the hedge nose first
Rwd you go through the hedge backwards
4wd you go through the hedge roof first
I have a penchant for cars that make no commercial sense whatsoever, preferably ones from the VW group/ from the 2000s.
I currently own a W12 Phaeton, W8 Passat, Lupo 3L and have owned a Passat R36.
Oh and I also have a Renault Avantime V6 for good measure which I have always had a soft spot for!
Next on the list will be a V12 TDI Audi Q7
Maybe I can be redeemed by the Aston DB9 that sits along side them all in the garage/ driveway

Nothing to be guilty of there, I’d say the db9 is the least cool of the bunch (but then I’m a bit odd)I currently own a W12 Phaeton, W8 Passat, Lupo 3L and have owned a Passat R36.

I enjoy driving my girlfriends nearly-new 308 Allure more than my EP3 Civic. For reasons such as, it's comfortable, lovely interior, fully glass roof, easy to drive, excellent entertainment/infotainment system and smooth.
There's many reasons my EP3 is better, however I just prefer using the 308. So much so, I'm starting to consider moving the EP3 on for something with better 'modern comforts' for myself.

I've got a lot of love for the V70. Amusing vid here where this trader also notes where traders sit in the social pecking order!

I'm reviving this thread...
I test drove a current shape Astra. My wife didn't like it (it's to replace her current car), but I did.
No feel, but handled very well, light, and supple suspension on broken tarmac meant there was more fun to be had. The 1 litre, three-cylinder engine was a game little powerplant too.
A bit like a PH Katy Perry but more embarrassing: I drove a base spec Astra, and I liked it...
I've been pondering having a try in the 200bhp 1.6 to replace my daily driver and suggesting if if be a good balance between commuting and fun when the opportunity presents.
Yes, I'm pondering buying an Astra "for fun". I feel like I should have in my PH card this week.
I like them as well. 11k for a 2018 model with 10k on the clock, poky too. I test drove a current shape Astra. My wife didn't like it (it's to replace her current car), but I did.

Was the most fun of the hot hatches I had from those times (Golf, Peugeot), the towering engine, adjustable handling and tireless brakes.
Wished I still had it
Still survives with Tax and MoT though

I've only had one car with a worse manual gearbox than my Z4M...and that was my Skoda Estelle!!
I was very nearly tempted to throw in the towel and scrap three pedal manuals after the Z4M...thankfully I still managed to keep the faith though!
