It really is an anomaly. Quick, reliable, now holding value at just over 20k for 08 models, practical , looks great imo and great spec as standard.

Need to talk these down a bit, might be after one next year.
How about the wheels are about £1400 EACH and they are specific to each corner of the car. Virtually zero chance of finding second hand replacements.
It's only got 4 seats instead of 5.

Plus the usual,
It's just a posh Toyota with no pedigree comments.
You may have to take some Alan partridge jokes.

Hopefully now just 15k in a few months.

Ha! Nice...Values seem to have increased from this time last year by 1-2k. With so few about cant see this dropping much if at all any time soon. I am a happy owner!

Am seriously tempted, in the next 12 months I'd planned to get a GT however, could save some cash on one of these, the reliability and maintenance on the GT was my big worry, gorgeous to look at but probably less so if it's waiting for hefty repairs.

Can we all agree there needs to be enough of these available we can all get one?

Agreed, between May 2013 and March 2014, I saw prices go up slightly...

I do believe there are approximately 220 ISF's in the country. Slim pickings

Is that stuff about the wheels true? Ridiculous if so.

Yes it is. Fronts and rears are different sizes and each wheel has to face a specific way for the blades to direct air on to the brakes. They are made by BBS and they have to be sent from Japan, hence the cost.

I have had mine for over a year and no problems. Drove to the Bedford Autodrome, raced it round the track, 125mph down the straight, changing gears at 6500rpm, glorious sound. Drove 70 miles home, all ok. I didn't inflate the tyres, check oil or water (I suppose I should have and will do next time). I did miss the odd apex and used some of the run off areas! Anyway it was good fun.

So far so good!

A nice set of HRE's instead then.

Great to read, I've had the IS-200 sport, the IS-300 sport aero, the IS-250 SE-L and pick up my IS-F 500 on Saturday, I can't wait, like you said, I shouldn't have driven it first, but the salesman knows what he's doing, I've got a Mesa red one too, being the 4th Lexus I've owned, the only way forward to me is the Lexus LFA,...... I can't ever see me owning one, unless the lottery comes up,......but for now, and the forever future, I've got my "car for life"
