Very cool, and some serious competition for the F-Type...
That interior really is very very nice.
Being a bit of a Jaguar fan-boy it does irk me slightly when direct comparisons between the F-Type R are made between cars cost 30-50k more... 30k difference here, (and the rest when it comes to a 991 turbo).
Yes, the jag interior is a tad low rent compared to either of the germans. but 30-50k...
Yes, the germans are a bit quicker in the twisty bits (I'm not sure "wont see which way it went" is really true, a second faster round a technical circuit maybe??..) but 30-50k...
Jeez, for that extra change you could get a track-day special that'll smash the st out of all three cars on a track. A genuine "wont see which way it went"...

Why does Merc insist on fitting a screen that looks like a blue tacked on iPad, did they forget to design a screen in until the last min?
How many mercy have been broken into by idiots about to steal the 'iPad' left on the dash?
It looks like a bad afterthought.
That aside great looking car. I am looking forward to the 911, F-Type and GT group tests.

? The GT is 97.000.
How much is a V8S with a few options?
The F-type is outgunned and outclassed, Imo.
97k with no options, apples for apples, I suppose would be v8s (80k with no options) vs GT (97k with no options) and v8R (85k no options) vs GT-S (110k no options). How much is a V8S with a few options?

S'pose it comes down to what kit you get as standard, and what the options cost to get something you'd actually want on the drive.
but the basic specs, BHP, 0-60, time round a track, awesome soundtrack, stunning looks, are all pretty darn close, but the basic prices are not.
want a stunning V8 coupe, one's available for 85k the other for 110k... that extra 25k gets you a second quicker around brand hatch.
I'm not anti merc, or german cars, in fact I'm struggling to justify and XJ for my next daily (heart / fan boy decision), when another A8 is such a compelling option, or an S Class for that matter. and that GT really is damn nice looking.
I'd still have the F-type, and I think my point is still valid about reviews that don't take into account a vast gap in the prices.. F type is a damn pricey car, but 110k for a merc coupe, makes it look like a bargain..
Perhaps I'm just old, I remember when a brand spanking "modern" Ferrari cost that much.
