Diesel Hatchback?
Discussion
£2500 Budget...
Any other suggestions other than these, anyone had any of these cars?
I will be 18 when I get one of these cars, so no more than a 1.9, got quoted at £1300 on a Seat Leon 1.9 TDI
Ford Fiesta 1.6 TDCI
Fiat Punto 1.9 MultiJet Diesel
Renault Clio 1.5dci 106 BHP
Seat Leon 1.9 TDI 2006+
Vauxhall Corsa 1.7 CDTI 2006+
Volkswagen Golf 2004+ 1.9 TDI
Alfa Romeo 147 1.9 JTD

Something with the pd vag engine, so most likely seat leon.
And before you moan that they look old you have to realize that quite literally everyone and their mum wants a cheap, modern diesel hatchback and that 2500 isn't much money when looking for reliable cars in a market segment with a lot of buyers.
Its also worth noting that 04 onwards pretty much only will get you an early design common rail diesel that will have quite a high likelihood of dropping expensive bills.
Long story short, with only 2500 quid and the requirement of being a diesel you need to put reliability first and image somewhere near the bottom of your list of priorities.

WHAT THE ACTUAL fkING fk??
This must be the 1045th thread you've started lately about wanting to buy a car of a similar type??? The same people are posting on PH as the last time you asked, which was about a week ago, so you're going to get the same fking answers!!
If you do not like the answers you're getting on other threads, go somewhere else, or better yet, TEST DRIVE some cars!!

What about the 2006 model Seat Leon, priced at 2500-3000And before you moan that they look old you have to realize that quite literally everyone and their mum wants a cheap, modern diesel hatchback and that 2500 isn't much money when looking for reliable cars in a market segment with a lot of buyers.

5th thread in 3 weeks on the same subject.
Do we really have to endure a new thread every four days on which cheap diesel hatchback you might possibly buy "6-7 months" from now?
You were more subtle than me Do we really have to endure a new thread every four days on which cheap diesel hatchback you might possibly buy "6-7 months" from now?
I'm leaving myself with scope for decreasing subtleness which can be deployed during the course of the next 52 threads the OP will post in the next 7 months before he actually does anything (or decides to keep his Corsa).
I don't know where you can go from quadruple 'fk'.

I am sure I could delve into my treasure trove of expletives and roll a few more out
yeah I remember that one, it's weird how you get it in your head which car you want before you even own a car or drive the subject of your 'car crush'.
Before my first car I got it in my head that I really wanted a Mitsubishi Colt 1.3 I read loads of reviews from simularly clueless teenagers describing how they were 'nippy' and 'handled like go-karts'...

I remember back when I was 17 and had just passed my test I begged my dad to get a 15k loan over 10 years on my behalf so that I could buy and insure a Clio V6!
Looking back at it I can't believe that I genuinley thought it was a logical and smart idea even though at the time I earned £600 per month.
Though maybe it would have been a wise choice, seeing as the V6's have doubled in price in the last 5 years...
