Wibble.
Oh my cloud9

I've all but agreed a deal on a car in Brazil, but this is making me have second thoughts!
That really is stunning, but seeing as you can't drive it home I think you might very quickly be bursting the thread budget, but who cares hehe

yes If ever there was a car that I reckon I could hold onto for a while it'd be that. Properly lovely.

In other news, since missing out on the truck, I've rather rashly decide to take a punt on a budget motor. Collection Saturday.
Just seen your comment in the Saab thread. 9-5?

A nice 9-5 estate would've been the sensible choice, so I've gone for a 9-3 3-door.

I didn't spot that it wasn't a runner, I'm at work so could only have a quick look until lunchtime. On that count I'm out, paintwork I can live with, a few bits needing doing here and there I'm fine with. Bringing it home on a trailer and my wife would kill me laugh

How do lots of rhd cars seem to end up in Holland? Any issues with the "export certificate"?
I've heard rumours that written-off cars go there, get repaired, then can come back without the V5C being endorsed as write-offs. No evidence to support the rumours, but I would always be very wary, especially if buying a vehicle abroad.

Nice. A real 1970s aroma in that cabin I bet.
Although it's from the 1980s
Pedant laugh
For whatever reason I'd drive it every day!

And yes, it does look like it's from the 1970s!
Drives like it, too "140 BHP 5.2 LITRE V8 AND 3 SPEED TORQUEFLITE AUTO TRANSMISSION" 140???? 3 speed?????

How on earth do they the get such little power from an engine?

It's almost impressive

You're a fan then? I don't really have much in the way of expectations, but thought I'd give it a shot. Not the 900 Classic I really lust after, but hopefully still vaguely amusing.

Three speeds are fine TBH but I take the point on the BHP.

I once had a 1980 Pontiac Firebird TransAm Turbo. 4.9 litres of blow-through carb' goodness and a whole 170 BHP! The 6.6 litre one I had before that would smoke the tyres if you looked at the throttle the wrong way.

I've got a 4.3 N/A Merc just now that gives me not far off twice that turbo figure.

Progress I guess.

RS Turbo, not perfect looking but not to bad. I remember when these were just a few years old, a guy fairly local to me got 'done' for chopping up crashed ones and making new ones out of the bits!

Yep definitely. On the assumption you have gone for a 2ltr turbo then you need to speak to Karl (noobtune) on uksaabs about a remap.

You said you haven't collected it yet, in which case if you haven't already, then have a read all about bulk head cracks, and make sure you check it when you collect it.
What year is it?

Ta. It's a 2.0 and a remap is likely if it doesn't already have one. What's the cost for a noobtune?

2001 and I've realised it's got the expensive tax. Definitely concerned about bulkhead cracks so will test for that.

Nice. (And pricey)

That V70R is nice, but if I was spending £6k on a 1st gen, I'd at least want it in Saffron Gold or Lazer Blue
