That Merc is in lovely condition the 190 is such a nice quality car. I could never get on with the manual box in them. Auto is much nicer driving experience in a 190 IMO

You don't see many AXs these days, in fact I can't remember the last time I saw one on the road. All the rigidity of a crisp packet IIRC biggrin

Alfa 147 GTA bit up on the miles (126k) but looks well looked after, over on budget at £5,295 but I think it would come away closer to 5k with some haggling

That's a really special car for around £5k!

Yes, that one sounds as if, fairly unusually for an eBay 944, it's had the correct sort of attention. Assuming it's all good and as described, it is sensibly priced at 40% above thread budget.

One caveat: always make further inquiries when a 944 is described as having had belt replacements "X,000 miles ago" or equivalent wording, but without reference to date. The belts are supposed to be changed according to calendar time (four years) as well as miles. You also want to ensure that it had the rollers and water pump changed. And that it wasn't just the timing belt but also the balance shaft belt and (on a 16v car) chain pad too (for the timing chain that connects the second cam to the first).

Provided they've been serviced well, the Busso V6 is good for the mileage and plenty more smile I miss my 156 GTA a lot. The noise is just sensational. Q2 diff and the bigger brakes are a must-do as well, this 147 already having them is a big plus. smile I highly doubt that they'll get any cheaper than this, and that looks a perfect 'usable' example.

Blimey that is cheap, but needs recommissioning.
Those GSs are very cool IMO, comfy hatchback with air cooled flat 4.
The suspension saved my life (long story) in Merthyr Tydfil 1989.
The pickup looks dire but would give you a self levelling position and even help with load by raising or sinking so makes sense. Stiff money though.
These are under the radar, blooming quick turbo, the italian Michelotti styling was a travesty but is starting to look quaint.

To be fair they looked pretty good in the mid-late 80s. A chap around the corner from me had two or three on the go for years.

They might have done slightly better if they had started with the Sabre styling/.
