My intention was not to de-barge the E32.

I thought it would have slotted well into both threads. Just chose this one as it was a bit of a curio
I agree it fits into either/both threads. There is quite a lot of crossover - I would like to see more big old barges; BMWs, Mercs and Jags in this thread.

I used to get a run to school in one the exact same as that.

I remember one day we were approaching a roundabout and the front right of the car dipped and started pulling violently to the right. The ball joint had failed. Luckily for us we weren't going fast and managed to avoid hitting anything. I beleive it was a well known fault with them.

Were they a holdover from the Minor, like the ones on the Marina/Ital? Needed greasing regularly.

Also brown.
You have a winning hand in BL top trumps.

The categories are:
Fatarsedness (Grade A)
Bizarre stying feature count (3)
Exterior colour (Brown conquers all)
Interior colour (Biege conquers all)
Dash colour (Brown conquers all)
Worst period of BL (78-80 top)
Inappropriate wheel swap
Unfashionablity
Wrinkly and sagging cloth
Difficulty accessing the rear seats
How suicidal is its face.

Only the black dash lets it down.

Sold for £3.4k.
Care in the community isnt working.
But i secretly have a penchant too.

Just stuck my Dad's Austin Princess 2200 HLS up on ebay. He bought it in 1984, it's first three years were spent with Essex Police. It's unusual as I've never heard of another Austin Princess used by the police.

It's got a front antiroll bar which again is none standard. I had a 2200 HL; this car was lower and stiffer. It handled way better than the standard car with quick steering and vastly improved agility yet still rode brilliantly. Why this wasn't standard issue I don't know, I'm sure many more would have sold.

I used to go to school in this car and had my first drive in it.

My parents supplied my brother with an allegro (1979 model so chrome bumpers). It was a perfectly good car and in mint condition but somehow as a 17 year old in 1991 he wasn't keen on being seen in a brown Allegro estate...

lovely history, interesting car etc, but that is knackered

maybe if it was 300sl gullwing it might be worth restoring, but even concourse it might be worth 2 grand

My group of mates first cars included one in this even better colour:

yikes

and another had one of these:

...complete with a set of molegrips to change gear...

made my mustard yellow Mini Clubman look positively stylish by comparison laugh
