This could go in either thread really. Always nice to see a fat wedge of old bills and MOTs biggrin

That gif is magnificent.

Frank Butcher went for an 'upgrade' on Peggy Mitchell by getting his bowtie twirled by Pat Butcher instead.

£3400 seems a bit steep though. I may be wrong...

After seeing a load of these racing at Goodwood this weekend, I'm seriously tempted!

I very nearly had one of those as my first car, but the insurance was too much. Lovely thing.

About the only ever way I'm going to own a Detomaso !!

How much money would thry have paid for this ? They have to be making a few hundred quid at least to make it worth their while, then theres the shipping and duty ? Whats the purchase price - a grand ?

Does seem a bit steep, i traded mine in (a 95 n reg) in 2001 for about that price. This one does look tidy though

Just starting to climb out of the Council trough, I'd say, and looking particularly lovely here. Cheap, peppy and usable.

This 318is can genuinely be described as 'time warp'.
advert also said:
-Holes in front panel (some kind of military badge which I still have) and bonnet (a bonnet emblem) were fitted at some point in the past.
-Various dings and dents. Door dings on O/S, dent in front O/S wing, small dent in bootlid edge.
-Scuffed bumper corners (not deep scratches)
-Cracked front bumper
Sounds like a pretty violent time warp!

Having said that, I agree that clean unmodified E36s look good these days. This one was "only" a 318, but it still sold quickly.

Only a 318, but the iS, so 150-ish bhp and sixteen lovely valves. They're supposed to go quite well.

Tough crowd in here, they weren't asking £8k for it. A few body dings and some peeling clocks are in my opinion outweighed by low mileage, low ownership, stacks of maintenance history and four matching premium tyres.

I think the crowd were only being tough because the seller described it as a "genuine time warp car" (or similar), which is a bit strong if the vehicle has cosmetic/mechanical faults.

Yes - I was only poking fun at the seller's optimism, not your choice of E36. "Time Warp car" and "Appreciating future classic" are two of the most over-used phrases in old car adverts!
