I think I need this. Cooler than a penguin's ice cream.
Quoting all the photos annoys me, but I feel I need to. This is spectacular. I keep banging on about the original Renault Espace on here, but they are such an interesting bit of kit, very clever and innovative. It's the one car my Dad had that I remember more than anything else, and also the first car I ever drove when about 13 round an airfield. I keep joking that we should buy one - he always aspired to a Quadra! I'll be keeping my eye on that! Pity it's hundreds of miles away.

Can't remember the last time I saw a rover 600 never mind a Ti. I remember heading north back to Glasgow up the m6 in the mid '90's with one of these in front of me, was a quick car in its day.

I've done it again.... got carried away and bought another car suitable for this thread!

1978 Spitfire - mechanically good condition, runs and drives lovely and is MOT'd. Cosmetically needs a bit of work but mainly bolt on stuff like a new roof and carpets. I think a bargain at a shade over £2k

not quite the full Quadra

The previous owner had owned it since 1991 and had modified it to his needs. It was converted to LPG taking out the rear propshaft and putting in twin LPG tanks. I’ve not tested the LPG system and it should be checked over with a specialist before use if you are to use it, it was fitted a long time ago and the car was in storage for many years.
Obviously as the rear propshaft was taken out it is not possible to test the Quadra system however the car drives very nicely indeed in two wheel drive and the propshaft is supplied with the car should you wish to convert it back.

Bloody love this thread. That Quadra Espace is cooler than a penguin's fridge, and then a couple of brilliant 90s Rovers. Fab.

Right up to the point the gearbox went bang, I recall.

The Espace Quadra looks pretty cool, however there are a few queries/ concerns:
1. Does that number plate come with it?
2. Does it have a current MoT? (can't check it)
3. To me a Phase 1 Renault Espace will always make me think 'Harold Shipman had one of those'

Yes, that was his make shift garage (car port behind fence) and he unscrewed the fence panel every time he used the car, which he said was about 3 times a week! If it was mine I would have put the fence panel on a hinge with a gate bolt.

HAHAHA!!!! v true, but you can't blame that on the car. No one ever remembers what Myra Hindley or the Krays drove, so it seems the Espace made a dent in the mind of us car folk!

If that RX7 would stay south of £3k I'd have it in a heartbeat - however it wont.
Did you have it then, it went for £2750

I did! My post was before the 'answers' were added by the vendor.
