I love the interior:

That Trevi has been for sale on and off for 2 or 3 years now. I'm sure it started off around £5k.

The CX is properly cool though biggrin

I love the interior:

This is a mile or two up the road from me, and is certainly rare.

I think CAR magazine compared the dash to a lump of Gorgonzola cheese.
The mot has now run out, but it's advertised with £500 worth of spares, so really should have sold.

I think brisk cornering is off the menu with those seats.

From memory the HLE was aimed at ecconomy so had a long 4th gear, and (iirc) a low compression engine.

1992 Citroën AX 4x4 Piste Rouge: http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C875811

I actually let out a little squeal when I saw that. I want it more than I want a lifetime supply of free cake.

It might just be the colour but that front grille looks odd.

I know someone who recently bought a new Ford in that colour which was a special order, everytime I see it I feel sick.

My mum had a metro in this colour when I was learning to drive. I had some great dotty great aunts who would buy brand new every three years and give it to us after. This one looks all kinds of wrong with the MG interior swap and funny front-end but they didn't look great when new.

High compression, surely? Low would worsen fuel consumption. IIRC it needed higher octane fuel than the standard car.

Edit: from http://www.dummett.net/ime/website/ime/a2z/metro_i...
Compression Ratios (Early Modelssmile
Low Comp. (1.0l inc Van) 8.3:1
Std Com (inc 1.0l and gala) 9.6:1
High Comp (inc L, HLE and City X) 10.3:1

Indeed. It was only 30 years ago.

I think the grille should be black and the front skirt shouldn't.

Yes, in general some reversion towards standard would benefit it. I quite like the Minilite looks though. I can't tell from the pics whether they are the real thing but they still look the part in any case.

I don't know how it's supposed to be, but rather like it as is!

I must be getting old as I appear to be developing some fondness for the likes of this as well:
