Only if looking at hatches. Buy a car young people dont drive and write off and insurance is cheap. Was cheaper for me to insure a jag xj 3.2 my second year driving than any remotely fast hatch I could find, untill I found the cherry haha.
How old were you when you had that jag xj 3.2 cause I cannot get my head round the fact that you think a 3.2 jag will be cheaper than a 1.6 fiestaMemorise97 said:

It almost halved my insurance when I switched from a 1.8 MX5 to a 4 litre Lexus. Insurance works in very strange ways, maybe you should try getting some quotes on cars that aren't hatchbacks that every other 18 year old is driving. On the other hand, if it means you're going to start another god knows how many fking threads then maybe it's not such a good idea oilslick said:

Got any good examples? Other than the Saab?Memorise97 said:
Didn't mean it like that, was just trying to find out how people got cheap quotes on a jag compared to a fiesta
I guess they live in low risk areas or rang round, bounced a few quotes off other companies etc. Gone are the days it seems of calling insurance companies for a quote, it is all done online so it is harder to drive a deal. Pick up the phone, call a few places, chat with the people on the phone, try and get them to like you or engage a reasonable conversation with you etc. They may be more inclined to do a deal for you if you're nice to them on the phone etc. It has worked for me before. Luckily I am now of an age were insurance is cheap, but then the most I ever paid was £1300 for a Cossie in 2002 when I was 21.

Also do you know anything about me driving other cars, for example my dad has a 320Ci BMW Petrol, being that I am fully
Compensated, and he is fully com, am I able to drive his bmw with him in the passenger seat?

I highly doubt your insurance gives you 3rd party cover to drive other cars; you're too young. You usually need to be 25 or over to be eligible for 3rd party cover on other vehicles, for obvious reasons. If you were to drive your dad's BMW, you'd be liable for driving with no insurance, and he'd most likely be liable for permitting you to use his car without insurance. Both of which are offences under s.143 RTA 1988 (boring, I know, but true).

It's worth a try, and you never know. Also do you know anything about me driving other cars, for example my dad has a 320Ci BMW Petrol, being that I am fully

As Matt has said, most policies require you to be 25 before they let you drive other cars 3rd party. It'll state if you have this in your policy documents
