My wife loves the W124, the 928 and was a keen driver of the 964 before we sold it. She also liked driving the Boxster Spyder.

lucky man indeed. I've mentioned on here I'm getting itchy about my E39 - my OH told me to keep it until at least spring for when the roads are better, to get more enjoyment out of it. C32 Estate more pics and I think price drop IIRC.

I know, I know - the gearbox will go wrong and cost more than the car. I still keep looking at these though, and this one has the sensible leather: http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C506763#
For some reason I find the supercharged 6 more desirable... possibly only becuase I already have 2 V8s in the fleet. Maybe also because the idea of a blown six suits the 'pocket rocket' C class better. Am I making this up, or was the C43 never considered dynamically all that good, bit nose heavy?

That's what people say. The C36 is supposed to be the purist's 202 but what people forget is the V8 is lighter.A quick question for our W124 experts. Are these the 'good' speakers for the W124, and if so are they easy to fit: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rainbow-IL-X4-7-MB-Merce...
I know you guys talk about w124s all the time, but they don't appeal to me generally so I don't pay much attention. I have however come across a very clean but not quite mint HK supplied grey on tan 300 coupe. Apparently stacks of history and 80k km on it. The guy mentioned 2.5k. Anyone interested? Should I be interested.

Yes...because that's only 50K miles?!0a said:

Looks like it, but you can get them much cheaper in Germany via ebay.de. I'll see if I can find a link.idiotgap said:

Your talking around £43 this route by the look of it. I've previously given this link to someone in the mercedes benz club, he bought some speakers from this seller and was happy. I don't speak German - I gave it up after 1 year at school so please check the listing carefully!
If you get the right ones, they plug straight in, swapping them over is very easy.

Hopefully those pics work. As soon as he mentioned it was for sale I thought of this thread, but I am tempted to buy for myself with the intention of reselling after making it mint. I only took a quick look, but I don't think it'd take much.

Hi guys,
Me again now I've got my phone back! I got a massive bundle if cards from you guys the other day, it was absolutely amazi! Co7ksbt believe how many there were!
It's been a long time here, I'm still at hospital. I needed another op on my throat (tracheostomy) because I couldn't swallow saliva was getting into my lungs and causing infection after infection). I'm awaiting one more operation to fit a stomach peg so until I can swallow again I'll b3 feeding myself through a tube into my stomach.
My eyes are still poor with diplopia, my tongue is moving MARGINALLY more (and I do mean marginally at best), I have developed an extremely weak swallow (it doesn't even take any saliva down, but I had nothing at all last week so that's progress), my balance is still iffy but markedly better and I can just about walk around myself but feel more confident with a zimmerframe. The numbness in my legs and, erm, private area is still similar, perhaps marginally better again. Drs seem to think most of my problems will settle (whether that'll be 100% or not, who knows) but this will likely be quite a few months rather than weeks.
Thank you so much again for the thoughts and cards.it helps brighten up what is an extremely dark period for me.
I'm unsure on the car front... I may not be able to drive for a year, if that's the case what's beat option.... Get matt to drive it once a week for 30 miles or so.... But this still involves 8nsurin)insuring,taxing and servicing the car. Sorn it and leave it totally alone and then when I can drive get it towed to a garage and get it serviced. Or sell it?
Not sure if leaving it for a year is good!? 6 months I'll get matt to drive it, much longer it seems huge expense t9bjust keep it ticking over. Thoughts?

Good to hear from you Ross. Improvements will be marginal and will feel slow, but they will be improvements and they will add-up. Chin up, and keep on getting better.
As for the car, I'd be inclined to get a trusted pal to sell it. You don't yet know how long you'll be out of the saddle, and lack of use and/or neglect won't be good for the car. In the round, you've got enough on your plate so might be worth simplifying your admin.
On the positive side, you get to use your recuperation to research what you plan to replace it with! Good luck, whatever you decide.
