The exterior is bad, but wait until you get inside.

£470 seems reasonable, or £47, or £4.70

Wow, it's been a while since I saw that many advisories with a pass! The fact it's one owner from new, I expect the seller is hoping may attract somebody to restore it. scratchchin

Insane.

There is a 2015 car with less than 40k and a high spec for less than £1000 more.
That would have been a 2k car pre Covid.

selling my fathers beloved Mercedes

I'd hate to see how he treated something he hated.

Seeing that one made me laugh. Combined with the ‘Gears seemingly slipping’ doesn’t bode well. hehe

That SL is nuts. It must actually have negative value as a car at this point. Never mind how much it would cost in time and money just to get the obvious stuff back to being OK, you just know that anything that's been fixed so far has been bodged or cheaped out on, and it's nailed on that things will keep going wrong because it's not been looked after. Given I've seen working noughties SLs for sale around 3-4k recently, and it's barely a parts car given the state of every bit of it, that's just rolling scrap.

On what planet is a 13 year old Mini worth £12k, £4k tops on a good day

Especially considering you could import an 8000km example from Japan in better colours for half the price: https://www.goo-net-exchange.com/usedcars/SUBARU/I...

A curio but bizarre pricing nonetheless. i would probably pay a maximum of 3k for that just because of how unusual it is.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if it fetched £3k on a no reserve ebay auction with someone getting a bit over excited.

There must be some inherent value over and above the local scrapyard.

Realistic value £1500, maybe?

Yeah, there's two kinds of rare:

'Rare' as in desirable, limited edition, not many around, attracts high value.

'Rare' as in nobody bought one in the first place because it was either pointless, not very good or both.

Safe to say this qualifies as the latter.

You're going to need someone who doesn't know you can check MOT history online for that. It's a worthless money pit. It's not even like they're especially rare. You'd be into it for several thousand pounds just to make it not obviously st.

Thats a breaker surely ?

I know its not an SL but we sold this,

For £1450 yesterday, full MOT, not perfect by any means but pretty good.

That SL is largely worthless, ever panel is ruined, the interior is a dung heap and the engine and box are leaking tons of oil, prob 20 grand to put it right

That looks great value. I used to have a 2009 CLK220 diesel from the time they were punting them out in cheap leases (£280pm), it was a good car that was only let down by small back seats that made fitting a child seat a complete pain.

What spec was yours? (am now off to Auto Trader….. )

Yeah granted low mileage but i’ve looked at 2011 models with 90k for £2k
