A curio but bizarre pricing nonetheless. i would probably pay a maximum of 3k for that just because of how unusual it is.
Yeah, there's two kinds of rare:

'Rare' as in desirable, limited edition, not many around, attracts high value.

'Rare' as in nobody bought one in the first place because it was either pointless, not very good or both.

Safe to say this qualifies as the latter.
I did wonder whether a really late 2.8 vr6 engine might be worth more than we all expected but it appears not.

The exterior is bad, but wait until you get inside.

MOT history: https://www.check-mot.service.gov.uk/results?regis...
At least they rectified the flat tyres from the MOT. Oh wait…

Literally 15 years that cars been left to rot for,

I like the MOT fail where emissions can’t be tested as the engine won’t run properly

You're going to need someone who doesn't know you can check MOT history online for that. It's a worthless money pit. It's not even like they're especially rare. You'd be into it for several thousand pounds just to make it not obviously st.
Agreed but if you could get it to a respectable level for say under 4k all in then with the mileage that wouldn't be too bad. You'd need to be a good DIYer to make the sums work but as you say its probably not rare enough to bother.

I know its not an SL but we sold this,

For £1450 yesterday, full MOT, not perfect by any means but pretty good.
That looks great value. I used to have a 2009 CLK220 diesel from the time they were punting them out in cheap leases (£280pm), it was a good car that was only let down by small back seats that made fitting a child seat a complete pain.

What spec was yours? (am now off to Auto Trader….. )
2005 CLK220 CDI, the pictures flatter it a bit but overall it looked good, few advisories on the MOT and 109,000 miles but ran very well, my son drove it from Manchester to Southampton and back last weekend, didnt miss a beat.

Not fast, and a bit ponderous but the steering was nice, nice car to just amble about in, very comfy. We paid £2100 18 months ago, its had a window switch and a thermostat, oh and one ball joint for the MOT, he covered 9000 or so miles in it. I had it on and off a few times when he nicked my (his old) Fiesta ST and I loved it. Not rot to speak of surprisingly.

Believe these dont have a DPF or EGR so pretty reliable, downsides are the VED is £300 odd and for a diesel, not that economical .

That’s a bit harsh. I had one of the first V6 Ford Galaxys. It was great fun, used vast amounts of petrol but rattled along really well for a family bus. Mind you the engine literally fell out of ours after less than 6 months and 10,000 miles. Ford bought it back after a bit of buggering about from the dealer we got all of our money back which was quite a result.

I could somewhat understand the very optimistic pricing if it was absolutely mint, but that doesn't look all that tidy. Armrests missing from a number of seats, headrests missing from the back seats, tear in one of the rear seats, broken cupholder and just generally grubby looking inside.

Looking on AT there are a few S3 about the £14k mark with more miles. I didn't think it was a desirable car to be worth much money.

The LHD is a real issue though.

Well that's a surprise, genuinely didn't think that model of S3 was worth that much....

Neither did I. I remember them being a bit rubbish and not very desirable.

Looking at other older Audis the S4 2.7 from the same age there are a few in the mid £20k mark. They used to be sub £10k.

I thought these were the ones that EVO ( and other mags/journos too ) rated really highly?

If you are asking £23k for a Golf MK2, at least put some original alloys on and get rid of the £20 bad boy light lip.

Oh dear - £35K for a Cobra replica with incorrect wheels, ride height, front track and low rent interior. Oh and a Granada engine! £20-22K at best IMHO.

80k mile C63 - £50k is taking the pee big time even for a 507, especially as the rear seats look like they not been cleaned since filming an episode of fake taxi hurl

What a dreary looking car.

Have always appreciated Toyotas and i’m sure its very well built but this kind of soulless dross needs to stay in its time.

Who remembers the Carina E? Oh wait, nobody does.

Only if it had the 158bhp or 173bhp engine as in the MR2 or being driven by Hoy/Kaye in the mid 90s Touring Cars

Otherwise no……..
