I like Accords, but this seems a bit rich to me:

Very low milage for year and great condition, price seems about right to me.

7k? A nice example, but I can't imagine people are queuing up to buy this. And this is despite the fact I quite like it!

If it was 306 gti6 it would be very cheap at that price and yet basically the same car (which some would consider technically better) in a frumpy dress is never worth anywhere close to the value of its sister.
I think he's missing a trick not mentioning this has the 2.0 engine. The 2.0 was comparatively rare and was an absolute riot to drive. Maybe that's implicit in the fact that it's a VTS but not everybody knows that.

I consider myself pretty good with classic pricing but this one surprised me. Winning bid £28K.

Seems a bit high for an auction maybe but Practical Classics have a very good one at £35k, mint ones over £50k!. It's been with the last owner 34 year since import from the USA, many bidders go weak at the knees at this sort of thing, for some reason. frown

My brother had a red VTS back in the day. I never liked it. A few friends has the GTI6 and it just seemed a much better car.

an undesirable, slow, low spec, rusty, slightly broken volvo? £3k
Also doing the typical bell end thing of accidentally missing a 0 off the mileage, 10,800, how did I guess it would really be 108k, tosser.

The mileage thing really is annoying. It's not like you won't know when you go to see the car or even do a quick check on it.

No more daft than the Princess Diana Escort RS Turbo, or how much people pay for driver’s crash helmets, race suits, bits of F1 bodywork etc.

I would be doing some digging as to what is meant by "owned".

Was it actually registered in his name (i.e proof of name on logbook), or was he lent the car?

Assuming the mileage is genuine and it hasn't only had 2 or 3 services I bet that's actually a decent buy.

I can think of many worse ways to spend 3 grand.

Even better, you can't have it until the end of the summer so that it can be displayed at a museum. Where's my chequebook?

I saw the advert saying it was owned by Senna but didn't see the price. I'd actually assumed it would be more.

I also saw Princess Diana's first job offer was up for auction biglaugh some people will by anything.

A bit more digging in to the NSX suggests it was not "owned" by Senna, but simply lent to him when he visited Portugal. It seems there were numerous NSXs dotted around various countries which he would use when he visited them.

A bit naughty to use the term "owned".

Looks like a bargain, think how much they would be pricing it at, if it didn't have part service history and a short MOT.

It definitely looks like Ayrton's old car, I remember I used to see him on weekends that he wasn't racing, and there he would be, crouched down with his hose in his hand, he always had that hose of his out, he seemed to like giving things a right good splash, just like in the picture. I remember him saying to me 'i don't bother with all that servicing nonsense, what you want to do with your car is get your hose out and give it a right good splash'.

That advice has always stuck with me and to this day I don't service my cars and they somehow always appreciate in value. That's likely to be because they are always so clean.

More than a tad duplicitous. Paying a 500% premium for a car owned by Honda, which sometimes had Senna sat in it.
