Nice little nova sport for the collector whistle

Utterly mental.

This modern 80s hatch thing has got way out of hand
No one is going to pay that for a Nova. Will be re-listed soon after it ends. You'd pay 6-8k for a good one, tops.

Perhaps a liberal rub of "Amor All" polishes a £5,500 profit, if you've ever driven one, they are such a disappointment, Saab stopped any chassis development in about 1989, they drive like a mid 1980's Vauxhall.
Agree entirely, they are hopeless things. Their only party trick was mid range turbocharged torque that felt amazing when most other cars were NASP. They absolutely do not deserve the worship they get from certain quarters, but they can make a good £1k shed.

Is only one of the rear seats heated? That sort of rarity has to be worth a premium.

This. My last car was a 9-5, albeit a 185PS non aero model. It was good fun to rag about, and I paid less than £500 for it.

Developed, it was not. It was comfortable, quick, thirsty, and it handled like an aircraft carrier. A nice shed, but I would never pay proper money for one!

I like that - apart from the green roll bars

..didn't think these were worth anything like that kind of money, let alone being Cat C

In fairness tho, it’s not really a Cat C anymore: “We then set out in totally restoring the vehicle and stripped it down to nothing. We then supplied and fitted a brand new Lotus Chassis and tub and continued in fitting many new Lotus parts that we had in stock, what we couldn't bet was stripped cleaned and painted.”

Back then, a Cat C on this car might not have been all that much damage - just that they were worth nothing so the repairs tripped the insurance company’s limit percentage against the value.

Very expensive, but the Cat C shouldn’t put anyone off that - it’s not the same car anymore.

If it wasn't badly damaged why go as far as changing the chassis and tub? There would be little point buying a lightly damaged car to carry out that level of work.

Cat C will people off. It'll also need to be disclosed to insurance as a Cat C.

Audi's...I really can't understand why people would shell out for something that is not much different to a run of the mill VW which are overpriced too.

At £65k it's clearly people sabotaging the auction.

Mad isn't it. You'd have to really want a Boxster. I'd rather put that sort of money into a new 911.
