Do people not get to the point thinking that you could price up a scrapped/damaged/old chassis, strip it down, then build up a near genuine car again, and that you'd still be well under the £145,000 region ?
The resultant re-build being more or less 'as good as new'.
Like this one at nearly £100k less, although I don't think the colour suits itThe resultant re-build being more or less 'as good as new'.

The £145k seems to be double the next most expensive E30 M3 for sale on here, that's just bonkers.

More vacuous bullst
This car is "rare" so fill your boots
It also has a "great spec" which includes standard factory spec plus heated front seats only and possibly tints but these could be aftermarket
For balance there is an AUC for sale with similar mileage and approx 3k of decent and useful options for over a grand less
Dontchalove car dealers?

A good read though! Someone was doing some serious business in that back in the day......or delivering a lot of Pizza!
Love the colour, suits the style and era so well

Gotta admire their marketing department, making 600k sound desirable!Just for the record this isn't a negative comment about JZM, they're awesome

I’m clearly misinformed then.
This is correctHowever, Id like to take the opportunity to apologise for being a bit abrupt using a blunt "wrong" when I could have been a bit more fluffy but more profoundly for using the term F31 instead of 3 series estate
Cheers

I know front-engine Porsches have gone up a bit, but AU$125k for a 944T is a clear indication of solvent abuse. Its not even the Silver Rose the ad headline claims....

Not only that, but usually one of the reasons for high Aus prices for this type of car is that, if Aus-delivered new, then its likely to have less rust at this age. This one is fresh in from the UK, having endured nearly 30 of the salt-flavoured winters.

My turbo S is newer and has covered less miles.
I wonder if he would be interested in buying mine to sell on!

OK, it's not an F1, but wouldn't you rather have an actual McLaren 12C for £30k less?https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...
Anyway, I nominate this:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lada-Samara-1-3-CCL-1988...
A £3k Lada Samara, described by the seller as "Bit tatty paint work and still smells like somones nan inside even got a pack of cough sweets from the 80s in the dash."

Saw this little beauty on ebay the other day:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Newly-built-Volvo-242-wi...
I’m a fan of old Volvos (I drive an Amazon) but 32 grand for an orange 240 that happens to be LHD? (car is in Finland).
There has obviously been some money spent on the old girl – spec list looks pretty good and if those parts had been bolted on to a MK1/2 Escort I could imagine that the seller may well have got the asking price.
But 32 grand on a 240?

Looks to have had everything done, but the bit that stands out is the FIA Passport - is this a particularly costly or time consuming thing to have applied? Could be that, that is pushing the price up, if it is. You know - cheaper/easier to buy a car that is already approved than go through the process of building/modifying/submitting/testing etc.http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Newly-built-Volvo-242-wi...
