Must be an indication of just how crap/boring/identikit modern car designs are, but I really like the way that looks, which is odd as I remember when it was released the Vectra was one of the dullest cars around. From the side view the wheels actually look in good proportion to the car, and it has a hint of BTCC about it. Never thought I'd actually look at a Vectra one day and think yeah, I like that.

Regarding the Vectra, I quite like it, but at sub £2k.

Now what about this beauty, a snip at £55k.

It may well have been restored to within an inch of its life, but it has still covered the best part of 170,000 miles and it's last MOT ran out in 2014!

I'm going to say that's not so bad, it's a pretty rare thing. Having said that no way would I pay that, though the price isn't the reason. I think a Peugeot affectionado would be all over that. Just no clue at what price

Gendarmerie used to have them but with Integrales, M3s and Cosworths at double that I think that's good value

In what universe would a buyer exist for this? I mean I honestly cant fathom it in any circumstance unless its someone so fantastically rich they are doing it for a bet or something.

I can only surmise that it's like seeing a 'limited edition' washing machine that you almost bought back in 1999 and now seeing it in the paper for sale second hand. Only the price isn't £50 for it, it's £300, and you actually laugh out loud.

ste when it's new doesn't translate to desirable when it's used - only in very exceptional circumstances and, unfortunately, a Vauxhall Vectra isn't one of them.

having actually driven these over long distances on a, b roads and motorways i just cant fathom the hate. Actually is it because its an 'in' joke amongst real car enthusiasts?

GSi, being discussed above, actually got very good reviews after the MSD tweaks compared to cooking Vectra






I was impressed with the GSi I once drove - great burble as well as standard - I worked with a guy who ran one and he did say it was quite tyre sensitive - set up for the OEM tyres perhaps.
Seats also very comfy
