I don't think the price is too bad. I quite like it. Prefer it to be the saloon version though.

Another one from them. Civic Type-R. Granted it's a nice colour and mileage, but yellow'd headlights, rusty numberplate screws, stained drivers seat, yet they want £8.5k for it?!?!?!
In it's first 10,000miles it's used a rear tyre tread up. Maybe it had been rotated from the front. I always use tyre comments on mots when viewing low milers.

The most extreme- I saw a Jazz once with tiny miles that changed tyres annually. It was probably a learner car?

The front tyre was at limit after 6000. Quite a few brake issues too.

Hard life or clocked? Same MOT station every year.

The wheels need refurbished. That's expected when asking top dollar.

GSi, being discussed above, actually got very good reviews after the MSD tweaks compared to cooking Vectra

I was impressed with the GSi I once drove - great burble as well as standard - I worked with a guy who ran one and he did say it was quite tyre sensitive - set up for the OEM tyres perhaps.
Seats also very comfy
A mate of mine bought one new back in about 2000.

Made a lovely noise, cornered quite well and had nice seats but the ride was awful, it wasn't very quick, the steering was ridiculously heavy and it suffered from horrendous axle tramp.

I spent a bit more and bought an Impreza Turbo. Didn't make him feel better about his purchase. smile

Only GT86 perfornance true.....but on par with 190bhp 5-seater front drivers. I didn't find the steering too bad......but it could have done with the ST200 LSD

Have we had this:

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...

£18k for a 7 year old Volvo S80 that the dealer probably had to discount to £25k to get it off the forecourt when it was new.

OK, it's not the UK but I win this thread...

A mid-range 2005 MG TF for a fraction under £24k. Yes, it only has 2.5k KM on the clock, but it's double the price of the next most expensive (and still overpriced) one.

Is that for real? That's a 7-8k car in my books.

In what universe would a buyer exist for this? I mean I honestly cant fathom it in any circumstance unless its someone so fantastically rich they are doing it for a bet or something.
I can only surmise that it's like seeing a 'limited edition' washing machine that you almost bought back in 1999 and now seeing it in the paper for sale second hand. Only the price isn't £50 for it, it's £300, and you actually laugh out loud.

ste when it's new doesn't translate to desirable when it's used - only in very exceptional circumstances and, unfortunately, a Vauxhall Vectra isn't one of them.
having actually driven these over long distances on a, b roads and motorways i just cant fathom the hate. Actually is it because its an 'in' joke amongst real car enthusiasts?

Vectras are st! there see, I belong.
Mate of mine had one as a company car and I really enjoyed driving it. That said, you talk of long distances, it was one car that I found the seats to be hateful on long journeys - seriously bad on the back!

For some reason out here they love their British Tat (no offence if you are an MG head). I live beside an airfield that had the annual meeting of the birtish cars owners club and for the last meeting it rained and yet the place was packed. The odd thing aswell is that if you compare VW models for example (like for like) they are cheaper than in Ireland for example. Subaru's here are waaaaaaaaaaaay cheaper. Diesel is way more expensive than at home.

The V8s are rare and seem to hover around £5 - £8k for a 2006-2008 models with 90k or so on the clock. On that basis I think maybe for novelty value that one might fetch £10k because at that point it's still substantially better value than an equivalent age/mileage 550i or E500. I'd buy it today for £8k.

In any case the total UK market for 7 year old V8 Volvos is pretty small, and can mostly be found in the 1-5k barge thread on here hehe

Check the price of this m3. Only 95k miles.....

I sold one identical in 2010 for 16500 with 45k miles.

Anything old and remotely interesting has went silly cash. As much as I'd love a 3rd car (toy) im not being held to ransom and will wait for the price correction.

£7k today for an 06 with 90k miles https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...

I'm not sure what the '10 is worth, but you can get 2010 7-series and A8s for around £13k (albeit still with more miles) and I'd certainly prefer that https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...

Mollis?

I'm certainly no MG head! That TF just strikes me as being not-at-all desirable in terms of spec and engine (even when it was new) and is priced higher than a brand new factory-fresh Mazda MX-5 or Fiat 124. Alternatively you could have a 50k KM 2010 Boxster, and I know where my money would go!

I'd have one any day over a VW product. Without a doubt.
