Blue trim against the grey looks utter dog poo. And the side trim doesn't even match up on the door shut/rear quarter panel. At least try and get it to line up if asking nearly 60k.https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...
Are they having a laugh on this one or is this seriously the going rate?!

Interesting sticker on the inside of the fuel flap - it says 98 RON Super Unleaded only!!!Are they having a laugh on this one or is this seriously the going rate?!
Did that pass me by? Have MkII GTis always run on 98 only?

It's correct, yes the kjet cars do run well on 98+, you can then advance the ignition a couple of degrees to. On my modified 16v running it on 95ron would make it feel flat an lazy with no mojo. Did that pass me by? Have MkII GTis always run on 98 only?
I'm a huge mk2 golf fan and have owned plenty but I'd never spend that amount on that example but Id happily see it sell for close to that as it can only help the value of my largely original 89 GTI 16v.
About 12 years ago I had a C plate 8v almost identical to that one which I paid £200 quid for, funny story I won on it on Ebay and collected it from a very ordinary looking industrial building on the A38 near Thornbury. The Golf was being stored around the back of the building but the keys were in the unit. It turned out this chap worked for Aardmam productions and had loads of the models/sets for the Wallace & Gromit Were Rabbit film which I cannot recall if it was still in production at that point or released. There was also the Austin A35 that they'd bought to base their model on an record sounds)
Browsing earlier and found this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mercedes-Benz-CLK200-Ko...
I am guessing the exhaust and badge add thousands to price

No idea on the market for full custom beetles but I’ve seen that car in their showroom and I’m surprised it isn’t more money, it really is very well put together and I guess the retro VW scene has a few bonkers prices paid for stuff.
Yeah the attention to detail is amazing
To be fair there's a lot of money in parts there, but Beetles don't go for that kind of money unless they're very special, and it's very rare a modified one would go for much more than half that

I don't know much about minis but £55,000 for a fully restored original mini cooper seems like alot.
looking at ebay minit minis (rover) come in at 10k from a dealer. mint rare minis come in at around 20k. so why this one for 55k? I could possibly understand if it had a celeb or story attached or if it was in original mint condition, but its just a nut/bolt restoration.

yup. on a simlar note I don't think anyone has posted a car from Hexagon in quite a while. used to be the case that almost everything they posted onto PH classifieds was deemed overpriced. funny considering an article was even made on them!
They started years ago as a bmw specialists I was once told . Very few Porsche specialists I’d chose to deal with

A Corolla GT coupe for £29,995
Most of these went to Ireland and got modified so a UK one with low mileage is super rare, but 30K????
And the MOT history doesn't read very well.
