And a new entrant to the race, previously priced at a simply staggering £19,995 but now reduced to a merely ridiculous £14,995

These things were nasty, slow sheizerboxes even back in 1975 before the days of the Allegro. No surprise that this has been appearing unsold in the pages of Octane for about 8 months now...

That would be excellent with a Sierra Cosworth engine in it and subtle upgrades to the brakes and suspension smile

Guy who used to own Tyldesley motor spares had one exactly the same but with a BDA engine in it.

They were, indeed. My family had 1.1 saloon and 1.6 Sport from nearly new. Apart from great gear change and excellent lights on the Sport, even though interior was as basic as the Popular, with a few extra dials, they were tedious, ordinary and corrosive. Hillman Avenger was arguably better, as were some Vivas. Yes, this one is now a nice old conversation piece, but at a normal side street dealer’s it’s £4995 all day long.

With a Ford badge, it can sell for whatever number they come up with.

A nice thing, but optimistic pricing?

Apparently it was traded in for £2500
It’s been for sale for at least 3 years now you’d have to be insane

Surely just an attempt to manipulate the E39 upwards as someone mentioned ^^^^ - "Look at this low miles M5 for only £30k! - Bargain!"

Obvious to PHers but perhaps not to someone who's getting into the new "asset class" of classic cars - don't worry though he's got a diversified portfolio with a bit of crypto thrown in!

Do they really think they can make a £21k profit on an old 5 Series estate? If you're dumb enough to buy it, you were never meant to have money anyway.

Have we had this RUF 993 yet?

Worth it or a few hundred K over the mark? I'm leaning to the latter...

not even a factory Ruf. I'm someone will buy it. It must be easy money these types of cars are bought purely as investments.
