A one owner low mileage German spec 993 Turbo S... It is an insane amount of money, but actually it may not be an overly optimistic price - they aren't exactly a high volume item and the collectors do indeed pony up offensive money for them. I hate to say it, but probably doesn't belong on this thread. ALPINA B10 V8S touring Switch Tronic LIMITED EDITION. (in other words painted yellow)

I would say it's very seriously overpriced, it's a stodgy underwhelming drive that's went up in value by not far off a factor of 20 when compared to values 7-8 years ago. If the classic car bubble bursts then models such as this will be taking the biggest hits.mike74 said:

I adore the CRX, I think they're worth what they sell for all day long with the price of other cars of the age, but for the love of god put that thing out of it's misery. £2500 is a joke price. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CRX/263594348854?hash=i...

That Beetle would be far more than 50000 euros. Beetles that early don't come up for sale very often, trying to find the parts is very hard and they're very expensive when they do come up. You can't compare the price of one of those to a fairly common fifties or sixties car, in terms of production numbers there was probably somewhere between 10-15k made, and most trashed by the various local forces occupying West Germany.
To the right person it's probably somewhere close to a six figure car, I think a similar condition VW Hebmuller is more money than they're asking for this so it may not be all that over priced.

As I said, early and rare is fair enough, but £130,000 is too much for that vehicle. You have to really, really want a '48 in your collection and money be no object, to shell out that amount for it.
Up to £100k perhaps, but at £130k it's just overpriced. All IMHO of course!
For the sake of 10 years in age, that car is worth more than 14 times my '58 sold for last year...perhaps I'm just bitter. Ha ha

How many 58's did they make though? Bloody loads of them! I'm glad my 6 figure estimate was about right though, I tried to find others for sale to benchmark it against but there's nothing I could find. I'm now wanting one of the cars from Randy at Old Bug, I knew I shouldn't have gone on his site As I said, early and rare is fair enough, but £130,000 is too much for that vehicle. I could have 10 of my old '61 Beetle for that, and I know which I'd rather have. Split Beetles are awful to drive

To be honest, the price that restored Splittys are going for these days, I'm not surprised that Beetles are starting to get their day in the sun. Ovals - ten a penny compared to 40's Splits) seem to be running away with themselves as well...decidedly average cars being priced in the mid £20's.
With all that, I'd still expect that '48 to be no more than £100k (and even then, with a wince!)...wishful thinking?

It seems pricey, but they've already knocked £6 off the sticker price before you even get there. Sure there's some more wiggle room.W00DY said:
