I know the Charles Spencer King was a very desirable model, but are they REALLY worth 64 big ones nowadays?

CSK's can be worth that but I would question of that one is actually worth it. It has the engine from a P38 so it's no longer original and the ad doesn't say how many miles it's s done. It's days 2k since restoration but nothing about beforehand.

£3k for a Vectra B with 171k on the clock. Advert is a right good laugh as well.

I think, if you put that on Facebook market place for 800 pounds, you’d struggle to sell it, someone will offer you 500 max

Is that based on experience/marque and market knowledge or your own personal prejudices? Also interested to know what you’re comparing it too to make that statement?

I'm no expert but this seems to be an almost identical car, just over half the miles and just over 1/3 of the price. I can't see why you'd buy the £3k version unless you're willing to pay serious money for Vauxhall service history and an Irmscher grille?

If it was a GSI, MSD or Super Touring then maybe it's worth 3k, maybe.

Much as they have been rising in price recently, this seems rather excessive for a S4 auto, as nice as it looks.

Guide price is very optimistic, and bear in mind the buyer has to pay 13.5% premium on top.

It might have low mileage, but that's not necessarily a good thing with one of these, and the cam belt is older than Jesus. Seriously, an 8 year old cambelt? That's another £1,000 plus to add to the bill, as soon as you have bought it!

Laughed out loud about the cam belt older than Jesus comment . Sounds like the ad has upset you Lab , it’s annoying that some cars are worth fortunes and we’re a lot cheaper not so long ago . It’s not just you that curses at these moments .

Nobody’s paying more than £500 for a 170k mile automatic Vectra

One of similar age/mileage sold last year for £34K (incl Prem) here
All ones of similar mileage appear to have had similar estimates

I agree re getting a more 'used example' eg

It's an 18 year old Vectra with 171K on the clock, that price is criminal, service history or no service history.

No, I can't keep up the pretence. For that money you could acquire the most cherished original Mk1 Saab 900 Carlsson or similar, and have a few grand left over.

£3,500 for a 1985 Astra 1.3 with only 7 miles on the clock but numerous bits missing.

Is this the right thread for this? Who knows?
